BOKOMOREBI FILM ANNOUNCEMENT : AREIAVenturing through a distant desert, we wander the terrain of our intimate desires and fears, seeking answers. Yet, life never fails to deliver a surprise. When the opportunity arises, do you free yourself?“Thinking and making cinema as a process of accessing memories and reconstructing them, reshaping them, imagining possible futures from this dialogue. “Areia” is a film born inspired by a family diary, written by a man embarking on a journey to war. In his reflections, we can find the boy who still saw the world with poetry but also lamented with pain and anguish his fate. In this path of creation, the desert that was the setting of this story became our internal desert, the war our own battles, and the journey transformed into a quest. “Areia” is a film about our stories, our desires, and fears, traversing spaces crossed by time in search of survival. The film’s aesthetic navigates through visual references of Kandinsky and Salvador Dali, pushing the boundaries of image as representation, through the existential narrative of Claire Denis, the poetry of Joel Pizzini and Jodorowsky, seeking to create an experience that brings us closer to life.
