In honor of International Women’s Dive Day today, I am happy to say that this Thursday was the LAST sediment core I needed to collect for my master’s research! Science is an amazing thing and I could not have successfully taken any of these cores without the amazing divers/friends that have helped me along the way. Black bellied whistling ducks (Dendrocygna autumnalis)! They are easily identified by their loud, wheezy whistle and large white wing patch in flight. I could sit and watch them wiggle in the water all day. Duckies are the darn cutest. by @miranda.manross

The bareye hermit crab (Dardanus fucosis) - Arguably the cutest hermit crab🦀This little feller is a species of left handed hermit crab found in the warmer Western Atlantic. Growing a carapace up to a width of about 1 inch, inhabiting medium sized shells! by @miranda.manross
