Trigger warning ⚠️
I look back on myself tonight, it's been 4 years since my life changed. I look at all these photos I have of myself from the past 4 years to see how much I've changed on my the outside but I also know how much I've changed on the inside.

I don't speak very publicly about this usually but I am finally comfortable to speak up, 4 years ago tonight I was SA'd.

I didn't know the person and I don't remember his name to this day. I met this person on a dating app.

I got home to my dorm after being stranded in aurora for a couple of hours, I couldn't fall asleep until about 8 am when the sunlight was fully out. I skipped all my college classes that day and hid away in my room.

I didn't tell anyone what had happened, I was ashamed and felt like all of it was my fault.

I fell into one of the worst mental states of my life, I gave up on my classes, had bad anxiety, depression, ptsd, and dissociation.

The first person I told what happened was my very new boyfriend at the time Nicholas Booth and I didnt tell him until sometime around December. I held onto this burden for months as it ate away at me. But he reassured me that none of it was my fault and that he was here for me and he gave me the confidence to speak up and tell my family that I wasn't doing well and the reason why.

I told my family and a friend and they were all in my corner. They rallied behind me asked me what I needed and did whatever they could to help me. I started going to therapy to work through all of my issues and they were there every step of the way.

I've been in therapy for the past 3.5 years and it took a good 2 years to finally feel like my mental health was stable. I still have my bad days of course but I am able to speak about it, it doesn't hold power over me like it used to.

I'm posting this because I know far too many people struggle with this sadly, and I just want to let anyone know who is struggling that none of it is your fault, I'm in your corner and will always support when needed.

I am very happy nowadays, honestly probably the happiest I've been in my life surrounded by the greatest people and my cat ❤️ by @miranda_roses
