🏡 county road 34. a visual memory—
A few years ago my parents sold our childhood home. This house and land, taught me at a young age to explore and to find beauty in nature. Picking flowers from lilac bushes, eating fresh peaches and cherries from our trees, wandering our back woods for hours. Playing with puppies in soft grass, falling off the trampoline with my siblings, staying outside until the sun set. Making sun tea, ringing the dinner bell. Raking leaves and jumping in massive leaf piles.

I could list many more memories and will cherish that my dad built part of this house & the back porch which was a haven for me. The memories with my family, and friends on that land will always be etched in my heart.

As I’ve grieved this transition, and welcomed many others as an adult, I can’t help but be grateful for the consistency of God’s presence to be with me when everything else is changing. This ache in my heart, for permanence, or a hault to change, is uncomfortable. I yearn for time to hold still. God has been reminding me that he is consistent, this world is temporary and will fade away—and this is not my forever home. These little glimpses, of home, and of beauty—are gifts. Places where I experience Gods goodness to us on this earth. by @mirandabledsoe

Little bits of joy the past year—a pressing season, but rich moments of choosing to see beauty, showing up to community, creating and choosing to live life in communion with God. I am so grateful for my church, my family, my friends, & to be living in the wild city of NY.

This I declare
about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I
trust Him.

Family, Nebraska sunsets, and a birthday celebration with some of my dearest friends back home. The sweetest of memories I’ll cherish. I am so grateful! 🤍🎂 by @mirandabledsoe

These are old photos, but I wanted to share from a trip I took at the beginning of this year. I took a day alone to be in nature and be with God surrounded by so much beauty. I was in awe.

It was on this trip where I felt an invitation from the Lord the to believe him for good things for my life. To ask him for more.
To be filled in abundance with his love, secure in who he says I am.

My heart is so tender and ready to grow as I prepare to leave this week for the 18”. I am thankful for every person who supported me, and has prayed for my journey this fall.

Two months of learning to connect what is my head about God to my heart. I desire to live a life that is wholehearted, surrendered, and fully alive in the Lord. I’m so excited and anticipate his goodness. I feel thankful and honored for this time and space I get step away from the busy of NY and grow in community. Thank you everyone for your prayers 🤍. by @mirandabledsoe

This is me.

There is brokenness but there is also beauty. I am being shaped and molded by God, and am becoming more of who he created me to be. My insecurities, and hardships have become a source that reminds me that apart from God, I can do nothing. I am broken, but I am also deeply loved and redeemed by a loving God who cares about me and has called me his beloved. This is beauty.

This old throwback song & lyrics have become my hearts cry in this season—
Hey now, this is my desire
Consume me like a fire, cause I just want something beautiful to touch me, I know that I'm in reach
cause I am down on my knees, I'm waiting for something beautiful
Oh, oh, ohh something beautiful

Missing those spring blooms 🤍 by @mirandabledsoe

This past year I welcomed creativity with the transition that covid brought. I painted and sketched freely, experimented with taping white borders, adding more or less water to allow colors to blend & learned about the joy of using watercolors with the fact that they never turn out how I expect them to & that’s okay 🙃. I was reminded of my little self growing up who use to sit in her room and would sketch freely for hours. I’ve always loved to create but self criticism and busyness held me. This year painting allowed moments of being present, and championed me to usher others to create alongside me, with easy conversation. Creating is a joy, and I feel most of who God created me to be when I’m practicing these moments. by @mirandabledsoe

I spent 65 days in what they call the woods of wisdom and I have experienced a community that has changed my heart.

Nestled under tall trees this fall, I felt the Lords covering as my heart softened to who he says I am. He spoke my belovedess and assured me that I am his daughter. He takes delight in me and is pleased with me.

Again and again, God pursued my heart through leaders who laid their their life for me and other students. They fought for me and I remembered—God fights for me.
Moments of feeling seen in community healed my heart and reminded me—I am created to be around others, and I belong.

I am undone by Gods goodness and will be unpacking all I learned this fall for a long time. My heart feels awake and longs to live a life in full surrender to the Lord.
Thank you-to everyone who supported me in this journey. I am so thankful for your prayers and for following along. God has been really faithful to me and I am grateful for the past two months.

Hi friends-exciting update after not posting for almost a year! After several months of prayer asking God how He would like to grow in me this upcoming season, I feel clearly that He desires to solidify my identity in him.

I am very excited to share that I have been accepted into a two month discipleship school in North Carolina called the 18 Inch Journey [named for the distance between the head to the heart]🤍.

The 18 Inch Journey is a school specifically focused on learning how to take care of your heart, practice honesty and vulnerability with Jesus, and experience the Holy Spirit in your daily life. This is learned through intentional discipleship, community living, and the pursuit of wholeness.

I will be participating in weekly teaching sessions led by Jonathan and Melissa Helser, as well as creative rhythms, one-on-one discipleship, community worship and learning rhythms of rest and how to Sabbath.

I feel confident that this school will be a valuable stepping stone in my life that will continue to teach me how to follow God whole-heartedly and shape me into who He has designed me to be. I plan on returning to New York after the school and will continue to live with purpose.

I’ve been asked to raise support to cover my school living expenses this fall & will be selling a few photos that I’ve taken from places that mean a lot to me.
I will be posting this week about how to donate and how to purchase the photos (stay tuned ✨). I appreciate all of your prayers and support! by @mirandabledsoe
