Today marks 134 days of getting to be your mom 🦋

The first time I felt you in my belly, I was lying on the bed in our new bedroom, surrounded by moving boxes and chaos. The apartment we bought just a few hours before we found out that you were growing in my belly. It was as if you had already decided you were moving in with us.

By chance, I had my hand on my belly and it felt like a little whale turning inside. The little whale that was you.

You were born on the second Saturday in January, on my lucky date— the 11th.

We spent the evening under the stars, with the radio hyping up a meteor shower that was supposed to light up the sky. But, in true fashion, we ended up falling asleep before the show even started. It was our first time “cowboy camping,” and while it turned into a cozy yet damp adventure, it’s definitely something we’d do again.
