EL CID EN EL CÓMIC. LA IMAGEN DE UN MITO

Dentro de los eventos de la Semana Cidiana @semanacidiana de Burgos, llega una exposición que recorre la presencia de Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar en el mundo de la historieta.

Un viaje por distintas épocas, estilos y formas de entender al personaje: desde algunas de sus primeras representaciones gráficas hasta versiones históricas, épicas, infantiles e incluso humorísticas.

⚔️ EL CID LLEVA 160 AÑOS ENTRE VIÑETAS… Y TODAVÍA LE QUEDA...

Esta semana tengo la suerte de formar parte de una iniciativa muy especial dentro de la Semana Cidiana de Burgos: un recorrido por nada menos que 160 años de representaciones del Cid en el cómic, desde una aleluya de 1866 hasta las reinterpretaciones más actuales.

Del 28 de septiembre al 2 de octubre, en el Fórum Evolución, podrá visitarse la exposición «El Cid en el cómic: la imagen de un mito», con versiones muy diferentes del personaje: históricas, infantiles, humorísticas, fantásticas… y por supuesto, superheroicas.

Y ahí entro yo.

Con Roderick Díaz, El Cid, mi intención siempre ha sido coger un personaje con casi mil años de historia y preguntarme: ¿por qué no convertirlo directamente en un superhéroe?

Traerlo hasta nuestro tiempo, meterlo en un universo de superhéroes y tecnología, pero manteniendo detrás todo el peso del mito. Creo que precisamente ahí está una de las claves para que estos personajes sigan vivos: atrevernos a reinterpretarlos y hacerlos dialogar con los lenguajes actuales.

Y el viernes 2 de octubre a las 18:30, en la Sala de Ensayos del Fórum Evolución, tendremos uno de los momentos que más me apetecen: la mesa redonda «El Cid a través del cómic».

Estaremos los tres autores burgaleses presentes en la exposición: Gregorio González Vilches @Mirbind, Víctor Sáiz Riocerezo @Vicsaizo y servidor, Iván Sarnago, moderados por la periodista Patricia Ansótegui.

En mi caso, además de como autor y creador de Roderick Díaz, El Cid, participaré también desde mi experiencia como editor, director artístico y desarrollador de líneas editoriales, trabajo que he realizado durante estos años en Unrated Cómics y otros proyectos editoriales.

Hablaremos del Cid histórico, del Cid literario, del mito… y sobre todo de algo que me interesa muchísimo: hasta dónde podemos llevar al personaje desde el cómic sin dejar de reconocer al Cid que hay debajo.

Porque después de 160 años de viñetas, queda claro que Rodrigo todavía tiene mucha historia...

🏈 Blood Bowl time!

This time it was Orcs vs. Skaven, with @jairogarciar and @mirbind facing off on the pitch, under the watchful eye and guidance of @neo_chains , who showed us the ropes while we tried to keep our teams alive.

Tackles, crazy runs, plenty of hard hits and, above all, a great introduction to Blood Bowl.

There will definitely be a rematch!

Esta tarde hemos jugado a La Cuenta, siete jugadores alrededor de la mesa y muchas risas de por medio. Un juego ágil, divertido y perfecto para disfrutar cuando nos juntamos unos cuantos. Una de esas partidas que hacen que una tarde cualquiera termine siendo una gran tarde.

Just another peaceful night sailing across Krynn…

Well… “peaceful” was just a figure of speech. A joke, really.

In the middle of our Dragonlance adventure, our ship suddenly came under attack by a horde of Draconians — some of them swooping down from the skies on their flying mounts.

Surrounded, outnumbered, and with nowhere to run.

When you’re at sea, sometimes the only way out is through them.

Meet the Demogorgon.

This incredible miniature, painted by @jmordor.2013 , represents one of Dungeons & Dragons’ most iconic demons.

And yes — you’ve seen this exact miniature before.

In the very first episode of Stranger Things, Mike Wheeler pulls out a Demogorgon miniature during the boys’ D&D game. That classic creature becomes the inspiration for the name — and concept — of the terrifying Demogorgons we know from the series.

It’s a perfect example of how Dungeons & Dragons has been feeding our imagination for decades, influencing stories, creatures and entire worlds far beyond the tabletop.

Long before the Upside Down… there was D&D.

The spice must flow… but victory, apparently, had other plans.

Another battle for control of Arrakis in Dune: Imperium – Resurrection. Intrigue, alliances, armies, influence… and, of course, betrayal waiting behind every decision.

Across the table stood @jmordor.2013 , @tornelan and Iñaki, each fighting to bend the Imperium to his will.

I schemed. I fought. I sent my agents across the desert. I reached for power.

I did not win.

But on Arrakis, defeat is only another lesson written in the sand.

He who controls the spice controls the universe.
