The surprise of a lifetime!!

Finally getting back to our tradition of gingerbread houses after a few years. Sorry for the violent scenes - we have weirdos in our family 🫣😆 gummy bears may have actually been hurt.

Dramatic ending couldn’t overshadow a tour of Wrigley field, the best day on Lake Michigan, shopping in New Buffalo, sporting, quiet mornings and time with family and friends 🥰

4 nights in Ireland!

Landed in Dublin headed west with a stop halfway through the country for a bite and a pint at The Peppermill in Tipperary (highly recommend). We toured the Cliffs of Moher and then found The Fiddle and Bow to stay the night in Doolin. We had dinner and breakfast downstairs at Russell’s and highly highly recommend that destination!

day 2 started with a ferry ride to the Aran Islands. We biked 20 miles on Inis Mor. The most beautiful place on a perfect day. We enjoyed true Irish hospitality at the Ard Einne House B&B.

Day 3 we journeyed back to the mainland and then north to Galway. Stayed at the Galmont hotel and enjoyed visits to The Universal Bar and Trieste Cafe and Wine Bar. Galway downtown wasn’t our favorite so the next day we left the urban area.

For our last day we made a trek to Trim and the Trim Castle where part of Braveheart was filmed. Sean especially loved this stop and his lunch at the Stockhouse Restaurant. We ended the day in Dublin at Gleeson’s of Booterstown. We enjoyed a sunset stroll and really enjoyed the Blackrock area of the city. The stay and meal of Gleeson’s was lovely. The next morning it was back to the airport.

We never saw rain and rarely a cloud in the sky. We met lovely hosts wherever we went. We went east to west and would love to head north or south next time. Let’s hope there’s a next time 🍀 by @miriam_achey
