Before I went to college to study Fine Arts, I was part of a youth art and curation collective called @kunstkiosk in my hometown, St. Gallen.

In a tiny room, a former kiosk, we, a group of teenagers, got to experiment with art and exhibition-curation for the very first time in our lives. Young, clueless but highly motivated, we kept filling this little kiosk with new projects. Every opening turned into a happening and the space would fill up with visitors until the windows started fogging up from the condensation.

When I moved away for my Bachelor’s degree, I left the group and a new generation took over. But Kunstkiosk kept going. And it’s still around today.

About a year and a half ago, we formed a small project group made up of former and current members from different generations of Kunstkiosk. Our plan was to celebrate the 15 years anniversary of Kunstkiosk properly with a big exhibition.

Having seen this project finally come to life in September, after such a long period of planning and organising, was incredibly special. Across three floors of the former Tiffany Night Club, 30 artistic positions are now on display, bringing together different generations, perspectives and stories from and around the Kunstkiosk.

And now, sadly, the finissage is already around the corner. If you haven’t seen it yet, the exhibition is still open until Friday, October 9. Come by!
