How many days have you been alive? 11,457 for me. I’d need to double that to reach where my parents are, and triple it for my elders. Can you even fathom that? So many mornings and midnights. Possibly living this life two times over. I already feel like I’ve been here for a long time. All of it accumulating—the joys, losses, beginnings, conflicts, jobs, loves, uncertainties, wars, explorations, scares, surprises. What a thing. Hats off to everyone, especially those who’ve been here a bit longer. I’m in awe of you and all that you carry. I already yearn for the zero gravity of yesterdays.

But advance we must. Big hugs and journey well, y’all. 💞

My dear Aunt Syl ♥️, it’s been a month, and I still don’t have the words. I’ll let the memories speak. TL;DR: she was awesome. Kind. Classy. Supportive. Playful. Strong. Graceful. Fancy. Funny. Giving. A world traveler. Educated. Selfless. Everything I aspire to be, plus she showed unconditional love through and through. My bestie. My girl. My last McClendon elder. Her and Uncle Bill were like my 2nd set of grandparents after mine died. Took me in as I navigated my way after college. Thank you. 90 years. A job well done. Rest well 🫶🏽.

SN: the last photo was when we couldn’t bring flowers into the ICU a week before her passing so my Dad and I just took a selfie with them 🥹
