Oh, Miroyo🌻🍀
What a woman you are!

How proud I am of how far you’ve come. Twenty-year-old you would be so proud, and probably a little relieved too. I wish she knew how much better things would get💞

I wish she knew she didn’t have to worry so much because, somehow, things eventually work out. I wish she knew she didn’t have to hold on so tightly to everything, but could simply enjoy each season for what it was. I wish she knew she didn’t have to figure life out because, really, she was just a toddler-adult trying her best💞

Today, I’m celebrating that little girl. The girl who always believed she was meant for more. The girl who knew she didn’t have to settle. The girl with a dream 💞

We’re not halfway to that dream yet, but we’re somewhere on the way. Maybe we don’t have the exact direction figured out, maybe the path looks different from what we imagined, but we’re moving. And that counts for something.

Today, I don't just celebrate the woman I am. I celebrate the girl who believed I could become her.

My God!

Oh, Samburu! 😂❤️ Where do I even begin?

One of my favourite things about my job is the travel. You get paid to work, but somehow you also get to wake up in a whole different part of Kenya. I’ll take it! 😂

So this time, we went to Samburu… and honestly, my whole life has been a lie.

Because why did I grow up thinking Samburu was just dry land, scorching heat, dust, Morans and furnace weather? 😭😂

My friend… Samburu is COOL. Literally.
Cool and dry during the day, and the nights? Cold enough to make you question your life choices. 😂 I actually showered with steaming hot water the entire time. In Samburu! Who knew?!

But beyond the weather, this trip reminded me yet again how much I love what I do and even more so, the people I get to do it with. The team at @cjpfilmske is such an incredible bunch. Good people, good work, good vibes. ❤️

And then came the highlights…

We got to visit Jomo Kenyatta’s house, where Uhuru Kenyatta was conceived. Yes, THAT part of history!

And later, during a walk at Maralal Safari Lodge, I saw albino zebras for the very first time.

At that point, Samburu had officially won me over.

10/10. No complaints. No notes. Just vibes.

Samburu, you really said, “You thought you knew me?” 😂❤️

I loved it here. by @miroyo__

"Hey guys, how about we do a roadtrip through TransMara next weekend?"
"Sounds great, let us know the costs"
....."all set, let me take care of the planning"

That is how this trip came into life.
The plan was simple... until the plan started making up its own plans because the planner, who volunteered, did in fact not plan!

Somehow, we squeezed so much into a weekend that sleep became a distant memory. By the end of it, we were surviving on snacks, playlists and the occasional "we'll sleep when we get back". The itinerary definitely won... we did not.

But then TransMara happened.

The rolling hills, endless drive, fresh air and those moments where everyone just goes quiet because the view is doing all the talking... suddenly the exhaustion didn't matter as much. Some places are just worth showing up for, even if you're running on fumes.

The sunsets in Mara West, to die for! We had zebras and giraffes and antelope (or were they dikdiks) just casually strolling around us as we watched a very majestic sunset!

Special mention to the Mazda CX-5 because that car carried us through every kilometre without a single complaint. Comfortable, capable and effortlessly cool. I'm taking this as a sign that one with my name on it is already on the way. Manifesting that my future road trips are in my CX-5. ✨ by @miroyo__

Wandering through the winding alleys of Old Town Mombasa feels like stepping into a living storybook ✨

Carved wooden doors? Check.
Spice-scented air? Absolutely.
Swahili whispers in the breeze? Everywhere.

From centuries-old architecture to hidden cafés serving kahawa strong enough to wake the coast ☕🌊, every corner has a tale to tell. And the food at Camel's Joint,to die for!!

If these coral-stone walls could talk, what secrets do you think they’d spill? 👀💭

I cannot wait to explore Lamu too.

Long post alert 🚨

‎Before October 2024, you honestly could not have paid me to cut even a single strand of my mane. My hair felt like part of my identity, like letting it go meant losing something bigger, my power. When I finally did it, I did not just lose hair. I lost hesitation, fear and learnt detachment.
‎
‎Walking out after that cut felt lighter in every sense. Less weight on my head, less weight on my mind. It was not just a haircut, it was a reset. A little snip here, a little growth there. Turns out sometimes you have to trim what you are holding onto to really see how strong you are without it. I realised I actually had more power, more control.
‎
‎That moment showed me I can detach from things I thought I needed and still be completely okay. Actually, more than okay. Free, confident and a bit more in control of my own story.

Now, I love that I have the freedom to play with my hair how I want to. Consider this a launch :)

◦•●◉✿Happy New Year✿◉●•◦

One word for 2026: GROWTH!!!

1.Financial growth; May my income, opportunities and financial wisdom expand. May I build stability, attract abundance and manage resources with discipline and foresight.

2.Intellectual growth; May my mind stretch beyond limits. May I remain a student of life, absorbing knowledge, refining thought and turning insight into purposeful action.

3.Spiritual growth; May my spirit deepen and align. May my walk with my higher power be rooted in faith, guided by truth and strengthened by quiet trust.

4.Emotional growth; May I soften where I need healing and strengthen where I need boundaries. May I respond with grace, grow in self awareness and protect my peace.

5.Personal and professional growth; May my gifts mature and my path rise to meet me. May doors open, efforts flourish and my life reflect steady elevation and fulfilment.

Ol-donyo Sabuk, Mt kilimambogo hiking experience tested my limits!!!
Slide 1&2, I felt so proud of myself for getting to the summit with that flag, it was my driving force.
Slide 3, this was on the way down, I was too tired and really wished I didn't get myself into this.
Slide 4, felt like 3.6km was just 100 meters away.
Slide 5 and 6, mahn, I almost wept!! Going back wasn't an option, I mean, it was just 2.6 km to go, I convinced myself I had come along way to go back so I just had to release lactic acid and brace myself to get to the summit.
Slide7, our trailblazer said the summit was just around the corner and yes, he didn't lie.

📍Marigat, Baringo

Marigat is such a nice place for adventure, except that it's a furnace, literally. Even the water in lake Baringo is warm, I hated the heat. I barely have sweat running down my face but here, as early as 9 am, i was dripping. And oohh, i had to sleep with two fans on, no covers. And I couldn't take coffee, just cold juices and nyama choma. taken in Marigat Baringo by @miroyo__

📍West Pokot

You didn't sneeze but I'm blessing you.
Slide 1&2, Infront of Chepaypay (read chepaipai) hall in Nasokol girls high school.
Slide 3, at a random place within the school
Slide 4, inside Chepaypay hall, in my element (shout out to @shakersfoundation ) and no, it wasn't motivational speaking 😅... I don't know how to do that. This was more of a social interaction with the girls.
Slide 5, I wanted my photo to have rays of sunshine like that, but you can see me, yeah?? taken in West Pokot County by @miroyo__
