3000 m swimming in the sea 🧜🏻‍♀️ ~ National Open Water Swimming Championship~

My first time taking part in an event like this and the longest distance I’ve ever raced in a swimming competition.

The first kilometer went by on adrenaline, so to speak, but I could feel the sea offering some resistance. At one point, I could feel the frequent ripples in the water, which, combined with breathing every two strokes during the last kilometer, made me feel a little dizzy.

Other than that, there were small waves coming from the front, the side, or behind, and inevitably, I swallowed some water too. 😅

The course was well marked, the atmosphere was really nice, and the water was at just the right temperature for swimming.

I really enjoyed the race, and when the results were posted, I saw that I finished 4th overall in the women’s open category and 2nd in my age group. 💫
