Fixated on this blue selfie so I drew it …
I think I ruined it with the blue background but, oh well. Also I don’t know how to do reels, I wanted this song and it wouldn’t let me do it, so I resorted to this lol.

Making a 7hr drawing a day before it is due because I procrastinate. I am no expert but this is the process I used :

1. Make a grid. I used an app that made the grid for me called grid# (not sponsored). If you don’t want to download the app you can just use the power of math haha. I made sure my reference image was within a 9x12 grid, because the paper I used was 18x24. If you multiply the reference size by 2, you get a 18x24 image, so all my squares are 2”inches.
(I hope my explanation wasn’t confusing)

2. Work by the square. I find it easier to do the outline first and do the shading after. The squares should guide you easier than drawing by reference without a guide support.

3. Use several pencil shades. I recommend at least a light, medium, and dark pencil (I used HB, 2B, and 4B). If you don’t have several shades of pencils, I find it easier to just layer. Ex: light layer+ light layer= medium layer and so on…
Obviously is easier to just get different pencils but not all of us can afford that, so try other techniques that fit your liking!

4. Try an easier image first! You don’t have to get as complex the first time, since you’ll find yourself making mistakes and maybe even messing up the math and the outline. Once you get a little practice you can start a new drawing. I believe in you!

Ps. : Again, I’m no expert! This is what works for me, and there are a million ways to draw that could be way better than what I do. I’ve been drawing since I’m little so I’m used to the grid system. Drawing takes practice and patience, so if you try constantly you’ll see better results sooner.
