Updated Directors Showreel. A collection clips from music videos, idents and films directed by ME ! Impossible without the help of so many talented cast and crew 🖤 🎵 by @lagsftw #director #showreel #womeninfilm #filmmaking #ukfilm #womenmakefilm #musicvideos #shortfilms #film #filmmaker #genrefilms #horrorfilms #thrillerfilms #femaleprotagonist by @misartressmel

For anyone that needs a little help with their milk and cheese habits for @weareveganuary then watch the full short film of The Herd ! Link to the film on my website in the bio ⬆️ To produce milk a cow has to be artificially inseminated (raped) she has to be pregnant to produce milk, then her child is taken away from her, that child if male lives a short life until killed for veal in the meat industry, if female then she is turned to a life like her mother and milked until she can’t milk and produce children any more, she is then killed so that humans can eat her body parts. Sounds grim right? There are tons of alternatives these days, there is no need to contribute to this barbaric industry. Cows are extremely gentle and playful animals. If you hate the way females are treated then think about the way females are used in the meat and dairy industry? Its exploitation, using the female reproductive system to continue human demand for something we don’t need. Not to mention the amount of methane and pollution cow farming uses contributing to the ever growing climate crisis. There is a reason humans are lactose intolerant, cows milk is for cows not humans. Put others lives before your taste buds and make the connection. I’m happy to help you out! #veganuary #govegan #theherd #dairyisscary #milkismurder #cows #dairyindustry #friendsnotfood #endspeciesism by @misartressmel

The short film TRUST I directed in Dec 2019 is now online and available to watch and share. This story appealed to me because of my own fears of being being pregnant. As a woman that never wants children and the thought of being made to access a back street abortion or face imprisonment or even death because of wanting to terminate a blob of nothing inside you is outrageous. This is patriarchy at its finest! People deserve their own right over their own bodies! What is happening across the world with abortions being made illegal and now even that its being taken to parliament in the UK is scary. These outdated views are disturbing! You can watch the full film through my website in the bio. Well done all Cast and Crew who helped make the film and also thank you @honeybeefilms for asking me to step in at short notice to direct. #prochoice #plannedparenthood #mybodychoice #abortionsforall #safelegalabortion #roevswade by @misartressmel

Read more books, get educated, dream, escape and get creative, don’t let the ruling class turn your brain to mush. I have dyslexia and ADHD ( and I work A-LOT ) it can take me a long time to get through some book’s, but I will always persist. I’ll break up the non-fiction with fiction, take weeks or months on one book and a couple of days on another. Don’t let this dystopian world burn knowledge and power into the machines we need to fight against. #johnwaters #readbooks #education #fuckfascism #smashthesystem by @misartressmel

Seen it twice and still one of my favourite films of this year. I also work at a rad cinema @riotheatre so I can see everyone come and show their love for it too, and to top it off, it was made locally on Vancouver Island! Support queer films my lovelies! @welcometocampmiasma 🏳️‍⚧️ 🌈 #film #littledeath #campmiasma #genrefilm #queercinema by @misartressmel

Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is fucking brilliant, I LOVED the film so much, but this scene took me out. I felt so deflated by what could have been a sexy as fuck scene which advertises KFC! So here are some options to some cruelty free plant based options which I purchased at @vegansupplychinatown - but also available in most supermarkets. If you want to really be sexy! GO VEGAN! Don’t exploit animals in movies! Keep the horror off your plate! #govegan #freepalestine🇵🇸 #animalrights #campmiasma #diplingsauce by @misartressmel

Walked, sky-trained, caught the bus, ferry, bus to Victoria on Vancouver Island. Stayed in a great hostel that gave you a dinner as well as breakfast and wandered my way around Victoria. LOVE this little city which gave me Brighton/ Old Camden with a hint of Bristol vibes. Will def make sure I head back here again. Loads of independent shops, lush vegan spots with healing energies, can’t beat a seaside town and its chill! Highly recommend trips to the Island! But, fuck me it takes a mission to get there and back if you go as a walk on passenger!!! Kinda nice to be amongst loads of people from all over the world and listen to their many languages whilst on the go, very much needed that factory re-set #victoria #vancouverisland #canada #britincanada by @misartressmel

I’m so excited for this. I absolutely LOVED working on this show for Production Designer - Christina Moore. Being part of this incredibly beautiful and powerful story was a dream job which turned into an experience. I did more than just be on set, I got to contribute to some of the actual magick and witchcraft too. Everyone gave so much to making this from the cast to the crew in both the UK and Jamaica! Solstice Blessings Druids/ Pagans and Wiccans 🌞 . This is one of my favourite photos of my siblings and I at Stonehenge for Summer Solstice 2000. Such a fun and epic spiritual night into the morning watching the sunrise between the stones as Druids circled us in their rituals and people played drums in the centre as I chilled on a giant blue stone. #stonehenge #summersolstice #siblings #pagen #love by @misartressmel

There were moments reading this that I could feel myself welling up and and struggling to imagine the pain Gisèle was going through, two stuck out for me; when she had to tell her adult children what had happened to her and why their father was in custody and how women had gone to her trial to form a protection and support on mass for her. Reading the details of the brutal r**es she endured whilst being drugged are extremely uncomfortable to read but, having been exposed and aware to such unsettling common occurrences it stirred more of an anger in me. All the men and her ex husband got found guilty, but thats very much not always the case, only this last week you girls in the UK had been gang r**ed and filmed with boys being let off, the judge not wanting the boys lives to be ruined disregarding the mental torture and already broken lives the girls now have a life long to suffer. Gisèle proves that you can stand and fight these absolute pieces of shit men and win, but, in this world of r**e culture with an obsession of the unconscious women we have a long way to go. It’s time punishment for this behaviour is to be more extreme, the education isn’t working or reaching those that desperately need it. I commend Gisèle for her stance and to show that putting the shame onto those that are the perpetrators is a powerful change in sexual assault cases. We just need the system to start to support those speaking up and out more and following this too. by @misartressmel
