a melancholy street..a lot of my art may look sad or lonely, but i find so much beauty in isolation and retrospection. i feel like these little scenes can be an escape from the things going on in my mind.

started working as a barista again & im sooo tired. ive also been staying up way too late all the time watching twin peaks and creepy animations.

here’s this months patreon reward for the watercolor postcard tier 🤍 each postcard is hand painted so they may vary from piece to piece but have the same vibe. i love the winter and the introspection it brings but im already looking forward to things melting so i can take long walks again.

i hope you’re all doing well 🪽

ive recently been obsessed with paul julian’s work. ive always loved “the hangman (1964)” but ive learned more about upa the animation studio that was formed with paul and colleagues who mostly games from disney after their strike in 1941. many of the animators wanted to break away from the typical disney style and i think they did such an amazing job achieving that.

i watched “the tell-tale heart (1953)” and fell in love with the style. this is my study of one of the key frames from the piece. ive always been an edgar allen poe fan (the cask of amanontillado is my favorite) so i was so excited to find this piece. it was so incredibly inspiring and i have a few more frames i want to study/paint. lately ive been trying to find any piece of weird/atompsheric/creepy old media i can find so if you have any suggestions let me know!
