Wishing all the nominees the best of luck tonight at The Oscars! Because our Movie Buffs episode on One Battle After Another won’t be out until next week (sorry, I’m horrible at scheduling 🤦🏽‍♂️) I thought I’d drop some of my favorite images from my pick for Best Picture of 2025.

Who else hasn’t stopped thinking about some of these images and scenes from this movie? It’s hard not to. The way America has fallen into fascism and authoritarianism makes this the film that best captures how it feels to live in the dystopia that is 2026, while also being timeless in its visceral storytelling and fast pace—this is a nearly 3-hour movie that feels like a 90-minute thriller.

That being said, it’s also funny as hell and features Paul Thomas Anderson’s signature camera moves, needle drops, and a surprisingly touching story about a washed-up dad just trying to save his daughter. It works on all levels and somehow PTA makes it look oh, so easy. A masterpiece for these depressing times that still carries hope for the future. And the best picture of 2025 (for me). ¡Viva la revolución! ✊🏽 by @misfit_minded

I highly encourage anyone who is a fan of the original Kill Bill movies to check this out on the big screen.

So many epic moments that just hit different when put together like this and there’s new footage added in as well! What a great way to start off my birthday week! 🙌🏽

Have you guys seen The Whole Bloody Affair? What are your thoughts?
