We wanted to take a moment to share a little about the heart behind this magazine. REVERB BREAK DOWN. We’re Layne and Christie — a couple of 6 and a half years who bonded through a shared love of music. Over the years, one of our love languages has been sharing songs with each other, curating playlists, discovering new artists, and going to live shows together. Layne, 26, is based in Tampa, Florida. His taste in music ranges from hip hop and R&B to rock, pop and all things in between. His love for rock music began early, growing up listening to bands like Shinedown and Metallica amongst others with his late father, who was a guitar player. Those moments helped shape the connection he has with music today. He is a writer on our platform but ultimately the one who put pen to paper on Breakline. Christie, 30, is originally from New York City and now based in Orlando, Florida. She has a background in journalism. She’s also a singer, trumpet player, and plays piano by ear. Growing up in a musical family, her father performed in a well-known Latin band in the 1960s, which helped inspire her love of music. Her musical taste ranges from Pop, R&B, Indie/Alt, Oldies and some old school rock. Along with writing, she is also the editor behind the magazine, helping shape both the platform and the stories shared on it. She also introduced Phillip to the beautiful world of journalism. Throughout the relationship and still today, we continue to explore music together, curate playlists and support small, local artists as well as the up and coming & large house hold names. Creating this magazine felt like a natural extension of that passion. Our goal is simply to spotlight artists and share the stories behind their craft. No fluff, just authenticity. Something the artist and fan alike can truly enjoy. by @misfitmag.us

For The Romance, Victim of Love isn’t just another single, it’s a reflection on vulnerability, self awareness, and learning to accept both your own flaws and the flaws of the people you love. In our latest interview, the band opens up about writing from real experiences, finding strength in honesty, and why being a misfit might not be such a bad thing after all. Some artists perform. Some artists make you believe. Watching DE’WAYNE take the stage in Raleigh felt like watching someone fully step into who they’re meant to be. Confident. Fearless. Unapologetically himself. And if this new era is any indication, he’s only getting started. ⚡️ Full feature now live on Misfit Press Photo credits: @luna.snapss ______________ #dewayne #rockmusic #alternativemusic by @misfitmag.us
On June 2nd, we had the opportunity to cover Justin Lyons during mgk’s Lost Americana Tour in Raleigh, NC. As mgk’s touring guitarist, Justin brings more than music to the stage. He brings feeling. Every note carries purpose, every performance creates connection. I’ve spent this tour telling him the same thing: Keep on healing. Because that’s what he does. Through his guitar, his passion, and his presence, he reminds people why music matters. One city at a time. One song at a time. 🤘🏻 📸: @ninelives.jpg _______________ #JustinLyons #MachineGunKelly #LostAmericanaTour #MGK #ConcertPhotography by @misfitmag.us
