I wanted to run an experiment: taking the timeless warmth of 'Zara Zara' and layering a gritty, industrial 8x8 loop sampled from 'Wall F**k' by @flume underneath it as a texture, distorted and gated to give it that glitchy movement. It’s a little unconventional, but finding the beauty in these contrasts is exactly why I love making music.

I was born and raised abroad, which meant I never learned to read or write Bangla, only attending a few elementary language classes as a child. While we spoke the language at home, my visual and intellectual connection to my culture was vastly cut off.

My only bridge to Bangladesh was the collection of CDs my brother brought back after his trips to Dhaka. I spent my childhood playing them on repeat, falling in love with the melodies and production of Fuad, Habib, Shunno etc.

In February 2024, I was asked to play for an event called 'বসন্ত উল্লাস' at @jatrabiroti and I was pretty nervous because I never played Bangla tracks in my sets prior to the event. I took it up as a challenge and wanted to build something unique rather than play a standard DJ set, so I spent a whole week without sleep making raw bootlegs. I merged those nostalgic childhood melodies with the underground electronic music I love, playing them back-to-back as a live set. The reaction from the crowd was noice. I realized there was a soul in these tracks that deserved to be explored, and I have been quietly building this catalog for the last 2.5 years.

Underground electronic music mostly thrives on hypnotic tension and heavy low-end etc. However, many people have shared with me how these loop-heavy music can easily become cold and sterile when played on repeat. By weaving these vocals and organic progressions into deep, minimalist electronic frameworks, changed the dynamic. I love how it gives them a human heart, turning a dark/electronic groove into a shared emotional experience. Anyways, these are the tracks from the first installment:
