Big Rei’s vision for the @vintage_n_vaina window, brought to life 🙌 — a shop full of vintage finds, collectibles, gifts, and a little bit of everything (Vaina 🌀). Newly opened and located at @centrovilla25 on the Westside of Cleveland (w.25th)

He pitched the concept, I took it to the iPad, sketched a digital mockup, got the green light from the team, and hit the ground running.

I Did a few test runs on some thrifted glass picture frames, and played with paint until it felt right. Once dialed in, I mapped the composition out with a china marker, laid down that base white with a 4” foam roller (just like screen printing 👀), then built up layers of blue, shadows, mids, highlights… topped it off with shop-red accents and a deep navy—almost black—to pull it all together. I used a razor to clean up the edges once completed and dried.

Grateful for the trust on this one. Super proud of how it turned out 🏆 Therapeutic process from start to finish. Definitely hoping to do more work like this soon.

📝Designing a poster for an event as unique as Home Movie Day at the @rockhall starts with gathering ideas and exploring the event’s core vibe. For this project, the goal was to capture that raw, nostalgic connection between music, film, and Cleveland’s DIY culture. We started by discussing visual themes—what feelings and energy the poster should convey, and how it could appeal to musicians, filmmakers, and fans alike.

From there, I developed and presented three different concepts. Each one brought a different perspective on the event’s essence, playing with elements like bold typography, vintage textures, and references to nostalgia and DIY ethos. This initial round gave us a good sense of what worked and what didn’t, with certain visuals standing out and beginning to shape the final look.

After refining these elements, tweaking colors, layouts, and typography, we finally reached a design that hit the mark. With the client’s vision realized and a polished, print-ready file in hand, it’s ready to roll into production. Now the posters are prepped to make their debut at Home Movie Day, bringing a slice of this creative journey into the hands of @rockhall fans

2 color screen print, for @sorryforinterruptingband ‘s song in the works called “what if”. The song playing is “closer 2”. Available on most streaming platforms 🗣️

It’s been a pleasure seeing what they come up with, as we’ve started building their visual identity together earlier this year.

We share a lot of the same passions and ideas about Cleveland, art, and what it means to actually make something, instead of just making something look good.

For this one, I wanted to play with the idea of interrupting the familiar. Taking one of Cleveland’s most recognizable symbols — the Guardians of Traffic — and throwing it into a slightly unhinged, imperfect visual world. WHAT IF becomes the question, while “SORRY FOR INTERRUPTING” is basically the apology for asking it in the first place. It’s an identity crisis, self doubt, defiance, rebellion and imposter syndrome all rolled into one.

That’s kinda where I think the best stuff lives: somewhere between intention and “fuck it, let’s see what happens.” The raw.

There’s a certain freedom in the unhinged. In the weird little mistakes, rough edges, overprinting, imperfect registration, and decisions that probably wouldn’t survive a committee meeting. Especially now, in a world getting increasingly saturated with AI-generated perfection and endless polished output, there’s something important about making work that still feels made by human hands.
