Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi 🥀🥀🥀

I remember posting Ayşenur in my stories 4 months ago when her life was brutally taken away by the IOF in Gaza. Her smile resonated in my heart. You know how you can tell someone was a beautiful soul just from a photo, sometimes? That is how I felt when I first saw her face. I knew she had a pure heart. Her crime? Attending a weekly protest in Beita calling for the end of the Isr**li settlement expansion in the West Bank.

Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with and getting to know Ayşenur’s real life friends through other Palestine endeavors on here. They also are beautiful and lovely humans that I am lucky to call friends and comrades now. I did not know you Ayşenur, but I want you to know that your name and your life will not be forgotten. You have touched many hearts and connected people through the tragic loss of your life. I know what it feels like to lose a friend. It hurts. But to lose a friend or family member in this way must feel even more gut-wrenching.

So, this little collage is not only dedicated to you, but it is dedicated to everyone who loved you and to everyone whose life has been taken away while fighting for other peoples right to live on THEIR land.

When I think of you, I think of the following excerpt of the poem “Enemy of the Sun” by Samih al-Qasim, 1970

I know people are tired of seeing fundraisers. But imagine how tired my friends in Gaza are of having to ask for help just to feed their children.

They’re tired, too. Tired of worrying about food, clean water, and how they’ll survive another day.

But they don’t get to take a break from needing those things.

Our donation fatigue cannot matter more than their survival fatigue.

Please don’t stop showing up for them. ❤️

$15 / $400 raised for Abood.

Abood is 19 years old. He should be thinking about university, what he wants to study, and the future he wants to build for himself. Instead, much of his energy is spent worrying about something far more immediate: making sure his mother is okay.

He wants to go to university. He wants an education, a career, and the chance to build a stable life. And he wants to be able to take care of his mother, Sawsan, whose health requires ongoing medication and support.

These are not extraordinary dreams. To study. To work. To care for your family. To know that your mother can get the medicine she needs without every month becoming another emergency.

Our current mutual aid goal for Abood and his family is $400. So far, we have raised only $15.

Abood deserves more than being forced to survive one crisis after another. Supporting him now means helping his mother stay cared for while also protecting the possibility of his own future.

When an injustice is recognized, something material should follow.

If governments can find money for destruction, then money can be found for the people forced to survive it.

Give.

Redistribute.

Share.

Come back tomorrow and do it again.

Carry your piece of the responsibility—and ask the people around you to carry theirs.

Gaza is still here, even when the world’s attention moves somewhere else. And within Gaza, some families are forgotten even more quickly than others—their posts seen less, their names shared less, their needs left unanswered while the reality of hunger, displacement, illness, fear, and survival continues every single day.

Attention is temporary. Their reality is not. Families do not stop needing food, medicine, shelter, transportation, clean water, and care simply because people have stopped looking.

This is week one of trying to raise $800 for Samahir and her family. So far, we have raised only $80 / $800. Please do not let this family disappear from your attention before their needs are met.

The situation in Gā-zā is increasingly dangerous and untenable for Ahmed and his family. Pursuing his studies abroad is a chance for him to rebuild his life and eventually evacuatė the rest of his family to safety.
