Weekend trip to Chicago! One of my Christmas presents to the gang was tickets to the Pokémon fossil exhibit at the field museum- it was SO cool. They paired life-sized models of fossil pokemon with the real fossils they’re based on! The field museum itself is just soooo well designed and interesting, you could spend a whole day there and not see everything. And we also hit up the planetarium on our way out of the city! I keep forgetting to make a post about New Orleans! We took a little sib trip and had a lovely time! Ate some great food (and quite possibly too many beignets, if that’s even a thing), explored the beautiful city by bike, foot, and streetcar, got trip tattoos, and utilized the hotel pool every night to recover from the heat 😅🐊 by @miss_sander

In the month of December, my mom and I undertake our yearly mass holiday cookie bake. When I was a kid, we would go to my aunt’s on the Saturday after thanksgiving to begin the season of baking, working with my aunt to bake tray after tray-though this tradition has its roots in my grandmother’s holiday cookie baking (wherein she would make 100+ dozen all on her own!). These days, it’s just my mom and I at home, over the course of a few weeks. Last year (2024) I decided to draw a little guide for the cookies, and since then we have slowly been expanding the friends and family we give our boxes to. And seemingly, expanding the number and variety of cookies as well. Just for fun, I wanted to document our exact totals this year-hopefully our numbers do my namesake (grandma Mary!) proud! (Ps we are actually still baking a little, so add a hundred or so to the total) by @miss_sander

Twenty photos is not nearly enough to summarize such a beautiful, terrible, long year. I lost my lovely Mango, I spent two weeks in Ireland with my family, and two weeks on my own in various European countries, I made so much art, ate and made so many different delicious foods, and made so many wonderful memories with the people I love, while at the same time so many awful, horrible things continue to occur in the world and in this country. Life will forever be a blend of bad and good, and I will forever allow the good to shine like gold in my memories and in my heart. Thank you to everyone who shared moments and their lives with me this year, and helped to make many bright spots in an increasingly dark world. Hopefully next year will be even brighter for us all✨💕 by @miss_sander

Oh man I totally blanked on posting photos from the final destination of my trip in Europe- London! ✨ @helenbb95 and @ambrosebrunskillb were such gracious hosts and allowed me to stay with them at their beautiful home, and I was so happy to see and visit with them 🙂‍↕️🫶💕. London was such a lovely chill city to walk around in, and a wonderful end to my (four week! 😟) long journey. taken in London, England by @miss_sander

Finally feeling up to posting more trip photos. Anyways! Amsterdam will always be That Girl to me✨Such a fun and beautiful city. My sweet beautiful girl Mango passed away yesterday. She was 18. And I loved her with my whole heart. I’m still travelling and it’s been really hard to have not been there with her. I hope she’s waiting for me on the rainbow bridge, enjoying the sun on her little old lady bones, as she loved to do. I’ll miss you forever, Mangy 💕 by @miss_sander
