I can’t believe that I got to be one of your best friends in this life. You taught me a language that I can’t speak with anyone else. You showed me colors in this world I’ll never see again without you. I laughed different when it was with you. I loved getting to come home to you rolling out of your bedroom. I can’t eat without seeing you enjoy the food too. I miss the way you so intently watched and breathed with people when we came to you. I miss coming to your room to crawl into bed with you at midnight and being tired the next morning in dance because we stayed up all night talking. We just got to be girls together. We got to wear matching pjs for Christmas and on beach vacations. We got to do what we love together on many different stages. We survived college together. We laughed and cried together. We got to do life together. You’re my family. You impacted every single person you knew. This world never deserved you in the first place, but you made it the best it could’ve been by being in it. Act 2. One of my favorite parts about Emma is what a forgiving girl she is. She discovers a lot in the second half of the show— even with all the unwanted attention of her story, nobody is provoked to change anything. (Other than her amazing principal, and Broadway friends, of course.) Not the school board and PTA, not her closeted girlfriend, not even her parents make an appearance, ever. She ends up also discovering her worth— knowing “I’m who I am, and I think that’s worth fighting for.” Even her Broadway friends admit they took her on as a charity case— and she barely bats an eye because she can see the acts of love making how everything goes and ends much more valuable than how it started. Even with one of the saddest griefs, of breaking up with a partner because they are unable to give you what you need, and deserve, Emma allows herself to be the one who has the final say when everyone around her is telling her what she can or can’t be, or what they can and can’t give her because of who she is. She knows “This heart is the best part of me.” And as soon as she lets go of all those fears and the control she doesn’t have either way.. she made room for even more, and better than what she ever imagined she would have. Emma, you will always be a part of me, and I know this is not the last time we will collide 💖🪩 by @missamyy19

Emma, Emma, Emma. What an incredible honor it has been to collide with you and become one. Playing this role was the equivalent to giving the younger Amy the biggest hug. Emma has healed so many parts of me that were so sad, confused, and just so heartbroken. She has truly helped me “Just Breathe” through the overwhelming moments that quickly became cathartic because I was doing it with, because of, and for her. Such a strange sensation, especially for such a young person, to have the world around you insist you, as a being, are a mistake. Like myself, Emma does not “care what other people say, cause when we’re through, no one can convince us we were wrong.” It reminds me and helps me remind others to keep showing up as your authentic self. People will see who you are for who you are. And that you are enough as you are. If for some reason they don’t, they’re the wrong people for you. And this is just Act 1! 🪩🎊💖🏳️‍🌈🫶🏽 by @missamyy19
