TWO DAYS UNTIL BIG FREEDIA! 🔥🌈

This Thursday, October 15, we’re taking over the historic Hawaii Theatre, and I want YOU there!

I’ll be performing music from my newly released 15-track album, SHAPESHIFTER, with special guest musicians Nemina Moon and GJ Ganotisi, as part of an incredible night headlined by the one and only BIG FREEDIA!

PLUS, preshow performances by Haus of Zamora and the UHM Hip Hop Dance Group!

I talk a little in this video about how SHAPESHIFTER came into being because I chose to follow an actual dream I had. Not a metaphorical dream. An honest-to-goodness dream.

And now, watching all of these extraordinary things unfold, I can’t help feeling like the universe is responding to that leap of faith.

Sometimes you have to act on the magic before the magic fully reveals itself. ✨

Speaking of which…

My new website is LIVE!

Visit sirdanpaul.com to stream SHAPESHIFTER on your favorite platform and explore the lyrics, album notes, promotional photos, and more.

This record has been a long time coming, and I’d love for you to spend some time with it.

But FIRST — let’s fill that theatre on Thursday and make some NOISE for BIG FREEDIA!

See you there, Honolulu. Let’s make a little history. ❤️

“Shapeshifter” is the most autobiographical song I’ve ever written. When I was a little kid in Wichita Falls, I had a visitor: a tall angel standing over my right shoulder, calm as anything, preparing me for the world. He came back once more in junior high, when I needed him most, and told me I was going to live a fun, beautiful, exciting life. I just had to hold on.

He wasn’t wrong. 🌺

This song is me claiming every version of myself, all the voices inside me at once: “a pretty good kisser, a dyed-in-the-wool anti-establishment drifter,” doing my best to keep my heart from going bitter. That’s why it sits at the center of the album and gives it its name.

🎧 SHAPESHIFTER is out now everywhere. Link in bio.

And come see me live this week! 👇

…in case you were wondering how the SHAPESHIFTER release party went. 👀

Yeah. It was kind of a moment. ✨

Huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the release of SHAPESHIFTER with sirdanpaul at Hula’s — to everyone who performed, played, filmed, photographed, cheered, danced, sang along, and helped make the night so ridiculously special.

And thank you, Hula’s, for giving this shapeshifter a stage. 🖤

SHAPESHIFTER is out now wherever you stream music.

1 DAY AWAY
Tomorrow SHAPESHIFTER arrives 💚

But tomorrow night at Hula’s, there’s going to be a little something that isn’t on the album.

Yesterday, I rehearsed “Wonderful Mess” with my friend, collaborator, and all-around force of nature Ian Galloway aka Ella Mental—the only duet I’ve ever written. *Brett Lord wrote the lyrics and melody for the part Ian sings here.

This song disappeared for more than a decade. We never played it. I honestly thought it had probably had its moment.
And then somehow, it resurfaced.
So naturally, I had to let her on the roster. 😉

“Wonderful Mess” will make its long-overdue return tomorrow night at the SHAPESHIFTER album release party at Hula’s, alongside the songs from the new record and some very special guest musicians.

And tomorrow, the album is all yours.
October 1.

Sometimes the joys we thought were finished are just waiting for the right moment to come back.

FOUR DAYS. 🖤

On Thursday, October 1, sirdanpaul’s SHAPESHIFTER finally makes it to your ear holes. 😬

These images are from the incredible SHAPESHIFTER cover shoot with the ridiculously talented Taylor Cullen aka Styx N Stones — and they’re a little glimpse into the world I’ve been building around this music. Thank you @thereverendravage for interviewing me 🤩

Almost time to celebrate… 🎂

Join me at Hula’s Waikiki for my SHAPESHIFTER Mini Concert + Birthday Celebration:

✨ 7–8 PM — Birthday Party (yes it’s also me legit bday)
💿 8 PM — SHAPESHIFTER Album Release

I’ll be joined by some seriously wonderful humans and performers:

GJ
Nemina Moon
Don Farmer
Waipahu Willie
Ian Galloway

with video visuals by
Joseph Smeraldi.

This album has been a long time coming. These songs became rungs on an escape ladder for me—ways to write my way through transformation, heartbreak, identity, injustice, joy, anger, and ultimately toward a new understanding of myself.

A whole new self, in fact: sirdanpaul.

On Thursday, I get to share it with you.

SHAPESHIFTER drops everywhere October 1st.
And then we celebrate together at Hula’s.

Come for the birthday.
Stay for the shapeshift. 🐍✨

And now it’s almost time to let it out into the world.

These images by Taylor Cullen (who shot the cover image for SHAPESHIFTER) capture a little of the world of sirdanpaul, set to the Haus of Glitch remix of “Yellow Lights (All I Knew).”

When I think of concierge medicine, I think of a doctor who actually has the time to know you—not just your chart. That’s exactly what I found with Dr. Sarah Canyon at the Olakino Center for Lifestyle Medicine in Kailua.

From the moment I walked in, I was struck by how warm and welcoming the office felt. Dr. Canyon and her delightful assistant, Sarah, immediately put me at ease. It never felt rushed, and I genuinely felt like my health and well-being mattered.

What’s really impressive is that Olakino offers so much more than a traditional primary care practice. Of course, Dr. Canyon provides comprehensive medical care, but she also takes a proactive, lifestyle-focused approach to helping people feel their best. Whether you’re interested in medically supervised GLP-1 weight management, Botox and other aesthetic treatments, or advanced technologies like EMSCULPT NEO for muscle building and body contouring or EMSELLA for pelvic floor health, it’s all available under one roof. It’s a truly modern approach to healthcare that combines prevention, wellness, and confidence. Dr. Canyon is board-certified in both Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine, and the practice emphasizes individualized care tailored to each person’s goals. (Olakino Center)

If you’re looking for a physician who treats the whole person—not just the symptoms—and a practice where you’ll feel genuinely cared for, I can’t recommend Dr. Sarah Canyon and the team at Olakino highly enough. I left feeling informed, encouraged, and excited about taking charge of my health.

Thank you, Dr. Canyon and Sarah, for creating such a special place.
