One week without you seems unimaginable and surreal. Thank you for being the best Dad, thank you for loving me, thank you for teaching me. I will carry you with me wherever I go, and we will always be connected in our love and heart. May you rest in peace. I know that you are running around and making everyone laugh in Heaven.

I miss you more than words could ever describe. I love you so much, Dad. 🤍❤️ by @misscsmith1

My dad is currently on hospice. Today marks 17 days without food or water. He has been pretty unresponsive for almost two weeks. He’s endured more terrible things than one human should over the last 3 years. Watching someone you love decline in front of your eyes will change you forever. I have learned a lot about patience, compassion and what true, raw love is.

There are moments where I feel overwhelmed and wonder how I will function. There are days when he was depressed and struggled because he couldn’t take care of himself or do the things he once loved. But when times got tough, he never gave up. He is resilient — the strongest man I know. My heart is in pieces, but I have to put one foot in front of the other because he showed me it’s possible. He is a fighter. He is hilarious. He is my dad.

Please spend time with the ones you love and don’t take it for granted. Tell people now how much they really mean to you. Don’t wait. No one can prepare you for when this type of situation knocks on your door. I wish I could take him out to dinner or coffee one more time. But I imagine a million more hours would still never be enough.

I love you dad. ❤️ by @misscsmith1

This is true strength. It is shocking to hear what some people have to go through - the unimaginable journey of cancer. I had the pleasure of tattooing a very special client. Her resilience and courage speaks for itself. Thank you for choosing me to be a small part of your story. I am lucky to see the smile on your face after this tattoo was finished and the power of human connection.🩷
