Was too emotional to post this yesterday. I tried . I cried.

No one prepares you, as a parent, for the chapter of life where you transition from a child-parent to an adult- parent. It’s hard.

It’s the time to let go a little bit more. To bite your tongue when you’re used to being able to influence. To set your child free into adult life when you have to bite the hard understanding that in order for your “child” to grow, that you need to let them. Let them go. Let them learn. Let them experience. Hope and pray that you did a good enough job when you *could* shape them.

I looked through years of photos. Birthdays. Events. Holidays. Tuesdays. Life. Remembering every moment I can of what it was like to take you from birth to adulthood. It made me proud. It made me sad. It made me bawl my eyes out, to be honest. It went by too fast.

My beautiful daughter. You are an adult. You are grown, and you are following your own path, not one that I have navigated. I can set you free into the world knowing that I did all I could to prepare you and to support you. Like a butterfly, you have grown wings and have come into your own. I’m proud. I’m honored. I am grateful for the love and trust and the friendship we have in each other. I will never stop mom’ing you, and I hope you will never stop daughter’ing me. It’s the greatest gift of my life. I love you, Eva Louise. And Happy 21st Birthday. by @missd_d
