At the airport waiting to board my flight back to NYC. The past month has been a literal whirlwind and as cliche as it sounds… I’m dam grateful.

3 weeks of shooting in my home state, reconnecting with old friends I’ve worked with on set and making new ones!! Ya’ll this crewwwwww is legendary. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Today would have been your 18th birthday. I was really, really hoping you’d make it to legal age, but true to form, you had other plans. 👑🙄

Here are 18 things I’ve noticed since you’ve been gone:
1. I don’t vacuum nearly as much.
2. I don’t have to pick up the bath mat anymore.
3. I don’t have to close the office doors.
4. I don’t have to move my charger cord at night so you don’t get stuck.
5. I don’t have to scrub the kitchen floor daily. Turns out, you were an incredibly messy eater.
6. Carrots mean absolutely nothing to me now. 🥕
7. I don’t need to leave the night lights on so you can see.
8. I actually have to pick up the cheese that falls on the ground.
9. The only hair I find around the house now is mine. Guess I can’t blame you anymore.
10. I use the lint brush way less.
11. I don’t do nearly as much laundry anymore.
12. You took up a ridiculous amount of space.
13. I go on an absurd amount of walks to get out of the house.
14. The sound of your collar… nope.
15. I own a staggering amount of shit with your face printed on it.
16. You touched so many people.
17. Honestly, I’m starting to think everyone liked you more than me.
18. I miss the absolute shit out of you.

That’s a wrap for Her Royal Highness, Queen of the Castle, Miss Mia 👑

Just 21 days shy of her 18th birthday, Mia crossed the Rainbow Bridge in the early morning on May 21st.

The day we got her, I was supposed to be “just looking.” Instead, she trapped me in an 18-year contract where she was the undisputed boss and I existed purely to serve her.

If you knew me, you knew Mia. She was the best thing that ever happened to me. She carried me through moving to NYC knowing no one, through losing my mom and dad, through every version of life over the last two decades. She’s the reason I’m still here.

She was an absolute freeloader… I mean, jet setter ✈️ High-maintenance across multiple continents: Hawaii, NYC, Bristol, England, and back again by plane, train, bike basket, backpack… whatever transportation Her Majesty required. During Covid, we biked everywhere with her riding shotgun in complete regal bliss.

Mia believed deeply in boundaries. She refused to cuddle, perfected the judgmental stare, and if I ever left town, she’d punish me by sitting on someone else’s lap while maintaining direct eye contact. Psychological warfare.

The apartment is painfully quiet now without the sound of her collar hitting the floor, her little tip-taps, or her nightly witching-hour snack demands.

I am completely destroyed, and wherever she is right now, she’s probably deeply annoyed by how much I’m crying over her. 🙄

Mia, Thank you for holding on as long as you did, my sweet girl. Say hi to Mom and Dad for me. Rest easy in the sun ☀️❤️

And to the friends who showed up for me this week… feeding me, laying on the floor with me, helping with the things I couldn’t handle… thank you. I will never forget how loved and held you made me feel. 💔

2022 was safe & secure. 2023 was ease + more. 2024 was thrive. For 2025, my word was Curiosity.

After some heavy down time, I realized I’d become fearful of the unknown. I was stuck pre-predicting outcomes and obsessing over efficiency. I LURVE a game plan, but trying to get everything “right” made life feel bland and disappointing.
This year, I challenged myself to find my spark by asking just one more question:

What if I ran a little slower today? Like, real slow.🏃🏻‍♀️
What if I low-ball bid on that flight upgrade?✈️
What if I followed the urge to detour for a coffee?☕️
What if I went down that Wikipedia rabbit hole? 🥀

My ADHD brain is having a ball. I’m not at the top of the mountain, but I can finally see the movement.
