Our honeymoon is something that will go beyond a memory for me. Leading up to the honeymoon left us with scars, finally getting to Alaska was more than a dream. Alaska was more than I thought it would be. Truly core memories. I left part of me in Alaska and cannot wait to go back. Fast forward a little over a month later and Deborah @intherawtattooing made that trip something I will carry forever. From the trees to the Little Rocks the otters hung out by. Last year at this time he was still in inpatient physical therapy rehab after the surgery. Fast forward to now. He made me walk a 4 mile walk. I’m so proud of him. Recently I was told we should get over what happened to us. Others have it worse…. Look, everyone heals and processes trauma differently. And at their own pace. Words of encouragement are always welcome. Those statements don’t help the healing process. Yes, others have it worse but this is our story, our trauma, and it’s a big deal to us.
