Right, you filthy animals. Tomorrow afternoon we’re returning to Duffy’s Bar for the Sunday Hangover Sessions. I’ll be joined by some good buddies and great musicians, playing some chilled acoustic music to soothe the effects of Saturday’s debauchery. Get yerselves along for a cheeky afternoon and a couple of illicit pints.

So the lovely dudes at @intasoundmusic were kind enough to invite me to play a live set in-store and now we get to share it with you 😊 Link’s in the bio for the full set.

While we’re here, Intasound are amazing. They’ve got me out of jail more times than I can remember. They must be dog-tired of me knocking on the door just as they’re closing when I’ve remembered I never replaced that broken string and have a show to play in an hour. They’ve been helping new and established musicians with their gear, lighting and advice for years and I think they’re Leicester’s last remaining bricks-and-mortar music store.
If you’re passing, pop in and say hi - they’re a welcoming bunch who’d love to meet you.

Special thanks to Dan, who filmed, recorded, mixed and edited the whole set out of his own time and plied me with tea the whole way. There’s something really liminal and cool about being in a music store after hours. It was an experience I won’t forget anytime soon. Oh, and do check out the other live sets on their page from some excellent local artists.

Hello, friends! Mega-excited to share our first single with y’all!
‘Vampires’ is out now on all your streaming thingies.

The song’s the first release on Black Horse Records. It was written for the short film ‘Foul Play’ and comes with a music video directed by the talented Rob Gurney (aka @digi_mechanic), which is up on the YouTubes if you’d prefer to watch it there. Link’s in the bio, kids.

Stay tuned for some cool behind-the-scenes stuff which I’ll be posting over the next few days.

This song was a labour of love and I’m really happy to put it out into the world to take its own journey, make its own mistakes, drink too much and wake up under a bridge. Godspeed, little song.

Bloody hell. I’m rather shocked and incredibly grateful to find out that I’ve been nominated in the Best Music (Song or Score) category in the 2022 Midlands Movies Awards.

When I approached my friend Rob Gurney with a song I’d been writing that I thought might fit with his second film, Foul Play, I fully expected him to take one listen and for it to stay firmly in the vaults. Instead, he was so encouraging and even asked me to contribute another song to go with it. Both Vampires and Left A Light On were recorded in my rickety old house on late nights, and to see how Rob placed them in the film alongside Peggy (the protagonist’s) journey was a real fuzzy feeling.

The team who worked on Foul Play are all talented and wonderful people and just a pleasure to be around, let alone work with (especially Richard James, whose attempts to bring me out of my creative shell apparently don’t stop short of writing me into his scripts). Can’t wait to rock up to the awards with you all and celebrate everyone’s hard work.

Thanks so much to @midlandsMovies for the nomination love and for supporting local filmmakers and creatives with such passion. I’d been feeling really unsure lately about my decision to try and become a songwriter - not that it isn’t the only thing I want to do, but sometimes I get caught in my own head and can’t see the bigger picture. This was just the news I needed to feel even a little less like an imposter. Thanks again and a massive congratulations to all the other nominees.

Greetings! Here’s a lil clip of You Don’t Get To Call from a fun evening at The Dog House open mic. This song’s taken a while to settle in, but it’s definitely one of my favourites from the new batch. Looking forward to getting this one down in the studio soon.

Well, hello there. It’s been a while, right?

So here’s some snaps of our recent show supporting Hobo Disco at @getintheshed94. They were taken by our uber-talented friend Andy over at @ajsimage .

Real talk time: There are no words for how great it was to be back on a stage playing for real live people again, and to do it with a whole bunch of new songs to such awesome people was a real treat. It felt like coming home from a long trip.

Thanks to Hobo Disco and @getintheshed94 for being great hosts, and to everyone who came to hang out with us. It meant the whole world. 🖤

And while we’re chucking out thanks I wanna say big love to @jimsinglehurst , @gr3nd3ljames1969 and Jonathan Eve for helping me bring these new songs into the world. They’re all absolute dudes and I’m constantly dumbfounded by their musical abilities.
