Have some fun. Enjoy the hobby!

At some point, the figure stops feeling like plastic. That’s when you know the frame is working.

Sometimes it’s a slight head tilt. Sometimes it’s the lighting. Sometimes it’s you laying on the floor at a questionable angle trying to make a 6-inch character feel 6-feet tall. 😂

The details matter. The atmosphere matters. Even the empty space in the frame matters.

Toy photography has this weird ability to turn imagination into something tangible — and that’s the fun of it.

Keep experimenting. Keep missing shots. Keep chasing the image you saw in your head before the camera ever came out.

Because every now and then… everything clicks.

A moment, not just a figure.

I struggled with this shot. However, with input from some of the boys, I think it worked out.

We are close to closing the season. But before we do, we sit down with Sean aka Visual Approach Photography—an incredible toy photographer and next-level diorama builder who’s worked with companies like Valaverse, Savage Crucible, Storm Arena, and more.

We get into what brands actually look for when choosing photographers, how to land that kind of work (and why it’s not always what you expect), and Sean’s creative process—from elaborate set-ups to simply “playing” with his collection until the magic hits.

@agentvariant and @3nd3rs_shad0w have been doing @mission.imposable for a minute.

One of the few longer form streams with photographers where they get into more technical and deeper discussions about toy photography.

As someone who’s been doing this for a few years I definitely appreciate getting into the weeds more to discuss techniques and approaches.

I was able to jump on recently when they had my buddy @akirajo9 on. One of the things we talked about was how he sets up n’ frames his shot and how he’s not afraid to use brighter lights.
