Today marks a decade in business. On March 1, 2016 God placed the vision of Christina Kanu Consulting on my heart and on March 1, 2026 I am here still because of his faithfulness.

My heart is overwhelmed with gratitude, love, and excitement for the past, present, and future of Christina Kanu Consulting.

I’m thankful for every no.
I’m thankful for every not right now.
And I’m thankful for every yes.

I am grateful for every person who has poured into CKC in any way. I’m grateful to be making history by beating the odds of businesses that keep their doors open.

I went back to the gym for the first time today since giving birth.

This may not seem like a lot but to a postpartum woman it is everything. Between all the things I carved out 45 minutes for wellness.

After having a baby your body goes through so many changes. And it takes some time to feel like “you” again while accepting the new parts of you.

Transparently, getting dressed has been my least favorite activity as of late. I don’t love how I look but I remind myself that this body brought life into the world twice. She is beautiful every curve and pound added.

I had very unrealistic gym goals during postpartum until my therapist brought me back to life. SnapBack culture damages the self esteem of mothers every single day.

So instead of going to the gym to snap back I simply want to workout so I can be in the best shape of my life to do all the things with our kids. So I can blow off some steam. So I can do something I love at my own pace and no one else’s. And to listen to all my favorite Drake songs while burning calories!

If no one else has told you today Mama you are beautiful + be kind to yourself. We got this 🩷🫂

Last week I celebrated 5 Years of Full Time Entrepreneurship. At this point this is not a drill. This is one of the photos I took to capture this moment in time. Shoutout to @shodharris !

On October 1, 2021 I started my journey of officially working for myself. Every year around this time I reflect on this journey.

If I had to have a chit chat with Christina from 2021 or anyone who is making the plunge of faith into Full Time Entrepreneurship here are a few things I would say:

💎The lows will be low but the highs will be even higher.

💎Not every client is intended for you. Find your target clientele and stay there.

💎 Hire people who are smarter than you in certain areas and take the time to develop them.

💎 There is no reward for the most overworked entrepreneur. This leads to stress and you can’t run a business if you are always stressed. Rest.

💎 Sometimes people will screw you over in business and this is why written agreements matter. It makes you stronger and makes you wiser. Keep pushing.

💎 Payroll will be one of the most stressful yet rewarding parts of the process. Every month where payroll is made is a blessing.

💎 Be as lean as you possibly can. Running a business is expensive.

💎 You are smart. You are capable. And you will fall down a few times but remember you will get back up.

Cheers to 10 years in business and 5 years of minding only the business that pays me. No matter how challenging being a full time entrepreneur gets I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Much love to anyone who has supported my dream and continues to support it.

I’m back again and officially TWO months today!

What a month it has been!

I grew a lot this month especially during my growth spurt! I got tons of sleep not sure about Mommy and Daddy! I am cooing up a storm. Apparently I talk a lot like Mommy but the verdict is in I am Daddy’s Twin!

I had a few special visits including my Auntie Lucy! We shared lots of cuddles.

The chocolate milk lady is doing a great job! Two months exclusively breastfed go mommy go!

The newest nicknames include Coco Bean and Fashion Nova!

I love playing with my siblings and having FaceTime dates with my faves!

I am starting to stay up longer during the day so I see more of the world! I can see further each day! I love being outside and enjoy running errands.

I am excited for Fall Fashion. It’s time to serve some looks.

A special highlight this month was my first road trip to my Grandparents!

My Baby Book of the Month is “Goodnight Football” by Michael Dahl. My brother Jayce LOVES football!

I recently asked God what is it that you want of me in this season? The answer was to pray.

What confirmed this even further was watching @christine.fnp cry after losing her son Nolan.

As a mother we are called to cover our children in prayer. I believe in the power of prayer and community. I have seen what has happened in the lives of my own children and others when you connect in prayer.

The Praying Mothers Circle is a weekly prayer group every Monday where we pray. Mamas are busy so let’s not complicate this. It will be via zoom and open to anyone who identifies as a mother (calling Grandmamas, Aunties, Big Sisters, Women who want children, etc).

There will be a google form for you to submit anonymous prayer requests each week.

There is a lot going on in the world and it’s time to take a few minutes out to pray.

Whether there are 2 women or 2000 you can meet me in the circle each Monday.

“Strong Enough to Bear The Children and Get Back to Business” @beyonce

Today is my first day back from maternity leave. Transparently, I have been emotional about this since last week. But after prayer and a few pep talks I am ready to put my CEO hat back on.

One thing that transcends all industries is the feelings that working mothers have when it is time to return to work after having a baby. Simply put it is not easy. I encourage you to be kind to mama’s when they return. I started my maternity leave mid July and had Nova on August 1st. The last seven weeks I have been in the newborn trenches and navigating all things postpartum. Even though it has been a lot of work I have loved every minute of it.

However, as an entrepreneur the work does not stop. I am grateful to Team CKC for keeping the show going in my absence. They exceeded every expectation I had!

Time to return but this time with the Baby CEO in my lap 🩷 she is already asleep on the job !!

P.S. I decided to decorate my office thank you @swashi_marie + @rhoyal_pearl for encouraging me to romanticize this day and support my extraness!

I’m Nova. I’m officially one month old today.

It’s been a busy month for me!

I learned how much I love cuddling with mommy and daddy (especially Daddy). If I cry enough they will save me from my bassinet!

I enjoy bottomless milk service 24/7 from the chocolate milk lady I mean Mommy!

I have a lot of nicknames NoNo, Novie, Ohema, AuntieLe, the Little Princess and Cuddlebug.

I have 2 big sisters and 1 big brother. I love them very much!

My days consist of eating, diaper changes, sleeping, tummy time, listening to stories, and parties every night. What a life!

I love my collection of bows and outfits. My great grandma would refer to me as a lady of fashion.

A special highlight this month was my brother’s football game. I slept the entire time in my stroller with a fan but heard they won.

Our sweet Nova has been a blessing to us since we found out we were pregnant. Her existence is proof that faith the size of a mustard seed will grant you the desires of your heart. She is an answered prayer and we are blessed to be her Mommy and Daddy. She is just two weeks old and truly living up to her title of “The Little Princess” 🩷👑
