POSTS STORIES REELS

Is it time? This is us! Izzie and Lisa, mother daughter combo behind Miss Midgley’s. Both of us are graduates from @uqarchitecture_ (albeit 30 years apart). Our vision for this project was to share and restore this rare piece of Brisbane’s history while reimagining what it could be. This photo was taken on site in the final days of construction with our muse - Stella 🐩
.
Miss M is open, and in the face of the recent current events we hope we can offer you some much needed respite. See you soon!
.
Ps. It is a complete coincidence that we are both wearing @birkenstockau and @countryroad - what can we say…great minds think alike?!

Some recent reviews :) by @missmidgleys

Next time you visit us you’ll notice there has been some changes :)

Following in the footsteps of Miss Midgley herself, an artist, we thought it was time for the next layer.

The foyer is now filled with artworks from our own family - three generations of female artists: Nana Kay Stone, her daughter Lisa White and her grand-daughter Izzie. by @missmidgleys

The realities of a heritage building! 160 years old, Miss M is in a constant state of repair - but this month we’ve shut for some pretty major restoration works. We’ll be back open soon!

Every single review we’ve had on Google has been 5 star. And now there is 100 of them. Thank you so much.

To say we’re honoured is an understatement.

Urban List has been busily working away on an Australia wide top 100. And you all voted us in as the people’s choice for the ‘unforgettable stays’ category.

Thank you,

Lisa and Izzie

We know it’s funny but it’s also serious - there were so many stories hidden on the walls of this building we wanted to keep a good thing going but saving the lunch order of our head carpenter during construction. Forever framed!

Our garden is the first thing you’ll experience as you pull in to Midgley’s. With a strong focus on Native plants, we’ve got all sorts of little critters in the garden.

Stay at Miss Midgley’s next time you’re visiting Brisbane and you might just spot one of our native bees.

Consider this your sign to finally book that staycation you’ve been eyeing off 👀

@missmidgleys is a 160 year old heritage building transformed into five beautifully designed, self-contained stays, with Instagrammable interiors full of charm. Tucked away on James Street, it puts Brisbane’s best retail and dining at your doorstep while still feeling like a quiet hidden gem.
The best part? The ground floor stays are dog friendly, so your pup can come along too. by @missmidgleys

“I’d put us in the category of super communicators”

Mum and I always get asked if it was tough working together, and the answers is - not when you’re comfortable already telling each other everything!
