Of course my first event as Miss Oregon Volunteer was helping at a marathon😉

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to hand out medals at the @roguemarathon to all of the finishers! If you know me, you know I’m usually running the races so it was such a treat to be volunteering at one. It was amazing to see all the racers finish and see them be overcome with emotion. A lot of people train for months to be able to run and you can tell that they put their all into this race!

A big thank you to our Spirit of Oregon titleholder @aubrey.delilah and our Southern Oregon Teen Volunteer @rowen.rhoades for spending the day with me! It was a blast to hang out with guys and meet you in person!

A new title, a new chapter, and a little introduction!✨

Hi everyone! As we transition this page over to my year as Miss Oregon Volunteer 2027, I figured it was time to introduce myself!

My name is Payton Idrogo, and I’m so honored to represent Oregon at Miss Volunteer America this June! While my journey to this title may not have followed the traditional path, I couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity and everything this year has in store.

A few things to get to know me:
•I have been competing in pageants since 2020, when my first ever pageant was canceled due to COVID
•I am a runner and just completed my first Marathon in Portland a week and a half ago
•I am the founder of my local run club @sunshineandmilesrc
•My S.E.R.V.E. initiative is Organ Donation: Legacy of Life, where I am a classroom educator through @donatelifenw while also sharing my own story of living with only one kidney
•I work as a inpatient phlebotomist at the hospital in Klamath Falls, so I’ve been lovingly dubbed as a vampire

I’m so excited to share this next chapter with you all, from preparing for the national stage to continuing to serve my community here in Oregon. Thank you for being here and following along!

And just like that, my time as Miss Oregon Teen Volunteer comes to an end. 🤍✨

This final adventure as a teen was everything I needed and more than I could have asked for. 👑

This year wasn’t what I expected. Balancing college, athletics, my title, and the many goals I’m pursuing challenged me in ways I never anticipated. Through it all, I learned to be authentically myself and choose what aligns with that.

To the organization that has felt like home, thank you for giving me a place to dream, grow, and become more of myself. You will never fully get rid of me. 🫶🏼

To my mom, Nana, and family, thank you for believing in my dreams, working alongside me, and joining me on this journey. When I signed up for my first pageant, I had no idea where it would lead. So much of this dream is possible because of you, and I’m endlessly grateful. 🤍

To pageantry, thank you for giving me more than I ever knew to ask for. The lessons, friendships, opportunities, and memories have shaped me, and I’ll carry them into every chapter ahead. Pageants will always be a meaningful part of who I am.

To the volunteer organization, thank you for welcoming me with love, challenging me to exceed my expectations, and reminding me of the impact we can make through service. 💗

Congratulations to the next Miss Oregon Teen Volunteer Eliana! 👑 I hope this year gives you everything you didn’t know you needed and helps you discover more of yourself along the way.

Just over a year ago, I had a heartbreaking experience that made me question my place in the pageant community. Someone I loved and trusted turned out to be… someone else entirely.

So when I signed up for my state pageant, I had one mission: Fall back in love with the hobby that made me, and rebuild a community that loves me for who I am, not what I can do for them.

Preparing for @missvolunteeramericapag rebuilt my confidence, love of pageants & self-awareness brick by brick. Painstaking, all-consuming work on myself turned into a top 5 finish at a national swimsuit pageant I’ve dreamed about competing in since its inception.

The girl in the mirror a year ago wouldn’t recognize me today. She’d be so proud. And she would know, without a shadow of a doubt, that she never needed to change- her circle did.

So I want every girl in our pageant world to know that with me- she is safe, loved & cherished… not for what she can do for people, but because of who she is.

Thank you, Oregon, for giving me a platform this year. For welcoming me back into the fold with love and acceptance and humor and lifting me up EXACTLY as I am: a woman that’s loud about doing what’s right, sensitive to her core… and proud of it.

To our pageant family, while I may be stepping out of the competition spotlight (as I prepare to take on my forever title of wifey next month! 😜) you can trust I’m not going anywhere. I will be a coach, mentor, sister, friend and cheerleader every day that God lets me.

IT’S OFFICIAL!! 📣

In lieu of a January state pageant, we’re changing things up & giving our future titleholders more time to prep for nationals, grow their brands and step into their roles 🤍

We have an INCREDIBLE Miss & Teen duo waiting in the wings to take over as your new appointed Miss Oregon Volunteer & Miss Oregon Teen Volunteer 🥳

Titleholder announcement coming on Saturday at 5pm Pacific Time👑

And don’t worry… there will be a future state pageant! 🌟 This decision simply allows time for our amazing new directorship to craft the future of the program for our 2027 queens.

We love you all and are immensely grateful for the past 8 months 💫

I returned to PDX this past week to host the @salvationarmynorthwest @michaelallenharrison benefit concert! 🎵🎹

Fundraising for the Gresham Corps’ unparalleled youth music program filled my cup in countless ways. As someone who grew up in choir, theater, voice & piano lessons & played trumpet in band, I know how firsthand how music can change young lives. Thank you @salvationarmyus for the work you do and for inviting me out to support it ♥️🔔

P.S… I lost my Salvation Army pin last year while bell ringing. At the concert last week, Major Jonathan Harvey presented me with a new one onstage. I was honored! 🥹
