After much thought and consideration I have decided that this season will be my last for the Blue Scoop at the Bayside Marketplace. This year was challenging for many reasons and to be honest took away much of my joy in running my business. The main reason behind my decision is of course my husband, Randy’s, health. The outcome of his transplant journey is still unclear and I want to spend time with him rather than married to a store. I also have aging parents who are at the point in their lives where they need more of my time and attention. A bittersweet decision to say the least! 15 seasons of many wonderful memories. I have been so fortunate to have wonderful customers and it’s been a privilege to be a part of your lives in some small way. The best blessing tho has been the incredible group of young people who have made up the Scoop staff over the years. I never would have gotten here without their hard work and support. The opportunity to watch them grow and thrive has given me so much joy and all of them hold a special place in my heart. BUT IT’S NOT GOODBYE! I will be focusing my energy on running our mobile units-Miss Eleanor and Little El-which offer me a lot more freedom and flexibility. So there will still be a Blue Scoop-just now it will be the Blue Scoop on wheels. We will be open today 3-7pm if you would like to stop in and say goodbye (tho it’s more like see you later 😉) or stock up on pints and quarts of the flavors we still have available. It’s been 15 amazing years and your patronage and support have meant the world to me.
