We carry the memory of “that which used to be” not as a photo we can tuck away, but as a layer of our current skin. Everything we once were contributes to who we are now.
When we stop looking for the “end” of a phase, we can stop feeling frustrated when old feelings resurface. It’s not that you’ve regressed; it’s just that the cycle has brought a certain memory back into the present.

Often times, we speak of love and hurt as mutually exclusive things —
like fire and water, light and dark, as though they could never coexist.
But I disagree.

For every time you love, your soul aches.
Not always from sorrow, but from the weight of caring so deeply.
It aches in the silence between messages,
in the moments you spend apart wondering if they feel the same,
in the vulnerability of being seen and still choosing to stay.

Love is not the absence of pain —
it is often its cause, and still somehow, its remedy.
