Operation: See My Kids Get Old didn’t stop when I was in Ibiza. I’m quite proud of the fact that the guy who would have boshed 2 family bags of Jamon Ruffles and about 4 litres of Fanta Limón before a set is now the same guy who would walk 2 miles to the gym to get a workout session in then go back to the hotel for a disco nap!

Big love to the team at @bfit_ibiza - the best equipped & friendliest Gym I found on the island. This isn’t an ad, I paid for each day pass I used, it’s more of a show of appreciation.

Back in the home gym tomorrow morning. I need my daily meditation with my @musclesquaduk dumbbells. Although it definitely will be my upper push day. My calves are still feeling it from the PB of 100kg I set on their standing calf raise machine šŸ˜‚ taken in Bfit Ibiza Sports Club by @mistajam

Every now and then I remember why I fell in love with Dance music in the first place. This was one of those moments.

People say DJs should stand cool behind the decks. Jokes on them, I’ve never been cool.

The record dropped. The crowd went for it. The running man appeared. Zero regrets. by @mistajam

Operation: See My Kids Get Old continues.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that people are often fascinated by how someone changes, but much less interested in why. I spent years looking for quick fixes myself. They never worked for me.

For me, once I did the hard work (spiritual and mental), the why appeared. And since then, it’s never changed. It powers everything physical.

I want to be around.

For the big moments. The ordinary moments. All the things you don’t realise you’d miss until you stop and think about them.

I’m not a fitness expert and I’m not trying to become a fitness influencer. I can share my experience, but I’ll never give advice. There’s already too much unqualified fitness advice on here.

I’m just a working Dad (with a very cool job) who spent too many years taking his health for granted and finally reached the point where he knew he had to do something about it.

So I keep showing up.

One workout at a time.

It’s the best meditation I’ve ever found. by @mistajam

One of the best tests for an unreleased record is playing it to a dancefloor that doesn’t know it.

No familiarity. No ā€œwait for my favourite bitā€. They either move or they don’t.

I’ve been sitting on this one for two years.

30th November 2020.

My management had arranged a songwriting session between me, Ollie Green and John Newman to write something for my project.

I turned up at Ollie’s North London home with a few ideas, gassed to be working with both of them, especially John, an artist I’d supported on the radio since his first appearance alongside Rudimental. We headed into Ollie’s bedroom studio and started writing.

After kicking around a few ideas, John asked if I’d be averse to interpolating Whitney Houston’s ā€œHow Will I Knowā€.

My answer was simple: only if we could write a song strong enough to justify the payoff of a chorus that iconic.

We mined all three of our previous heartbreaks for the lyrics and, within a few hours, we had a song.

I took the stems and a rough bounce away and started working on it. A few months later, I knew we had something special.

My management cleared the interpolation with Shannon Rubicam, George Merrill and Narada Michael Walden, the writers of Whitney’s original, and I sent the demo to John and Ollie with the good news.

A few weeks later, John called me during another studio session.

He’d played the song to David Guetta.

And David wanted it.

Our paths had crossed before, but I’d never properly met him and definitely didn’t have his number. So I did what anyone in my position would obviously do.

I messaged Nile Rodgers and his manager Merck and asked for David Guetta’s number šŸ˜‚

I WhatsApped David. A day later, he called me back.

I explained that the song John had sent him was one we’d written together for my project, that I hadn’t even finished my version yet, but I had cleared the interpolation and…

Before I could finish, David said:

ā€œā€¦then we need to do it as a collaboration!ā€

From there, we sent ideas back and forth over WhatsApp and email and before I knew it, we had a finished record.

Five years and 241 million streams later, I’m standing behind the decks at Ushuaïa Ibiza, warming up for David himself, playing our record and my remix of it.

Life is very, very strange sometimes. And David Guetta is a Don.

Anyone else start exercising for one reason and find themselves carrying on for a completely different one?

For years, losing weight was the goal. Get smaller. Get into clothes I couldn’t wear before. Watch the number on the scales go down.

And those things mattered. There were ups & downs, stops and starts, losses and regains. Eventually I got sick & tired of feeling sick & tired. Every fad diet and some frankly dangerous fitness plans had failed. I hit rock bottom and realised I had to do the actual hard work first.

So I worked on my spiritual fitness. Then my mental fitness. By the time I properly started working on the physical stuff, I finally knew why I was doing it.

I’m 43. I want to be stronger. I want to be fitter. I want to move well and keep doing this for as long as my body allows me to.

Mainly, I want to be around to see my kids get old.

What took me longer was learning to actually trust that why. I’m definitely not waking up every morning desperate to pick up a dumbbell. I just know why I’m doing it.

So four times a week I disappear into the garage, grab the MuscleSquad dumbbells, stick something on the Sonos and get to work. There’s normally a can of Sneak within reach too. Hydration, Energy and product placement. Very professional operation.

I’m currently on Version 6 of my programme I’ve been on for the last couple of years. I’m still a novice and constantly learning, so Version 7 will arrive as soon as I discover the next thing I’ve been doing like a prat šŸ˜‚

I track pretty much everything. Weight, calories, macros, measurements, workouts, reps, weight lifted. Partly because I like the data and partly because my brain is more than capable of ignoring six months of progress after one crap session.

I’m not a fitness expert. I’ve got no programme to sell and I’m not going to tell anybody else how they should train. This is just what fitness over 40 looks like for me at the moment.

A Dad in his garage, repeatedly picking up heavy things and putting them back where he found them.

It’s still the best meditation I’ve ever found.

What a way to end my 2026 Ibiza season!

Thank you so much to the team at Pacha for making me feel like family every time I’ve stepped through those iconic doors.

Thank you Robin Schulz for having me open your night 3 times over the season.

Thank you to my agent Kal and my management team for making it happen.

And most of all, thank you from the bottom of my heart to every single person who gave me their energy and danced with me.

I have no idea what 2027 may have in store for me but I sincerely hope I’ll be back šŸ™šŸ¾

Another Ibiza Airport hack!

I’ve been coming to this ā€˜secret’ free Ibiza Airport lounge for about 14 years and always shocked to see how empty it is compared to the rest of the airport. Well, I’ll gatekeep no more. However if I’m back next year and it’s rammed, I’ll definitely regret this video! taken in Ibiza Airport by @mistajam

Nearly 30 years of DJing and somehow the controversial bit is what I’m doing with my feet šŸ˜‚

Final Ibiza DJ set of 2026. Pacha Ibiza. House music playing. Crowd being read. Records being mixed. And once again I committed the terrible offence of visibly enjoying myself behind the decks.

This summer, the comments on these videos have taught me a lot about what a ā€œproper DJā€ is supposed to look like:

• DJs who dance are gimmicks
• DJs should be heard and not seen
• A DJ can ā€œeducateā€ the crowd about new music OR entertain them, but never both at the same time
• If you take your hands off the mixer, you’re ā€œjust pressing buttonsā€
• A clip of a set on socials means you’re not a real DJ
• You mustn’t dance too much, but if you stand still you’ve lost your passion

Whoever wrote this rulebook needs a better editor. It contradicts itself every other page.

So after nearly 30 years of DJing, here’s my contribution to the debate:

Head nod. Stand still. Two-step. Running man. Throw shapes that require an apology the following morning. Whatever your natural reaction to the music is, do that.

I’m not interested in performing seriousness just so somebody on IG thinks I look more like a ā€œreal DJā€. I’m also not interested in telling another DJ how much they should move. If standing still is genuinely how you feel the music, crack on. Just don’t tell somebody else their enjoyment is somehow less authentic because you’d express yours differently.

This was my final Ibiza gig of 2026 at Pacha and, naturally, I went IN! Some of the crowd danced. Some filmed. Some did both. But I’m still convinced the best memories from a club, rave or festival are the ones you actually lived rather than watched back through your phone.

This was never about telling DJs how they should behave behind the decks. It’s about letting House music, Dance music and club culture make people MOVE again.

So after an entire Ibiza season of arguing about it:

What’s the most ridiculous ā€œruleā€ you’ve ever heard about what a DJ should or shouldn’t do behind the decks?
