“The last battle “ - Modern Mythology

Painted in Dundalk, Ireland for @seekdundalkofficial . This mural is the second painting of CúChulainn

“In his final battle, Cú Chulainn stood alone among hundreds of fallen enemies but eventually even the great warrior could see his own defeat as the spears and flags closed in”

…………………………………………………..
History of Cúchulainn

Cúchulainn, a legendary hero in Irish mythology, is often compared to Achilles for his strength, heroic deeds, and tragic fate. His stories have been passed down for centuries, influencing Irish literature and art. He is central to the epic tale “Táin Bó Cúailnge” (The Cattle Raid of Cooley), which took place around 2,000 years ago.

In this story, Queen Medb of Connacht, envious of her husband’s prized bull, tries to steal a superior bull from the Cooley Peninsula. Cúchulainn, the greatest warrior of his time, defends the bull and Ulster with unmatched skill. He defeats many of Medb’s warriors, including his foster brother Ferdia.

Cúchulainn ultimately meets his end at the Standing Stone near Rahiddy. Mortally wounded, he ties himself to the stone to face his enemies, dying on his feet. Medb’s warriors only dare approach when the Crow, Morrigan lands on his shoulder, signaling his death.

‘’ Paper Planes ‘’ - painted for @handicapinternational_de

Curated by @hiphopkultur_ev

📸: @tobiasahlbrecht

This mural was created for Handicap International’s Stop Bombing Civilians initiative — a powerful campaign raising awareness about the devastating impact of explosive weapons on civilians, especially children, in populated areas.

A young girl stands amid the ruins of what was once home or school. She is both a survivor and witness, embodying the countless children born into conflict, who inherit war without a voice, without a choice.

bombs, planes, flowers, and a helmet all folded from paper, the fragile material of childhood. Once symbols of play, learning, and imagination, these paper forms now carry the weight of violence. The paper planes that once soared in classrooms now fly by as reminders of fear. The simple act of folding, once an innocent craft now becomes a quiet tragedy of what war takes away.

From the concrete rubble, paper flowers rise giving hope and resiliance. They speak of life’s fragility and of innocence stripped too soon.

This work asks us to pause and see beyond the distant noise of conflict, and to recognize the small, human stories that unfold in its shadow. taken in Braunschweig, Germany by @mister_copy

“Memory” - Modern Mythology
By @bener1graffiti , @dekor_one and @mister_copy
An @nvs_graffiti_crew production

Inspired by Mnemosyne, the Greek goddess of memory, this mural explores the connection between memory, dreams and imagination - bringing together mythology, Romanticism and graffiti.

Memories rarely come back exactly as they happened. They get mixed with feelings, images and fragments, and can change a little every time we remember them. We wanted the mural to play with this idea through layers of colour, classical imagery, abstract shapes and contemporary elements. The golden chalice also connects to the story. In ancient Greek tradition, drinking from the waters of Mnemosyne was believed to preserve memory. Here, the chalice becomes a vessel for memories, experiences and dreams - the things we collect and carry with us over time.

Within this world, we mixed the styles of three artists, each bringing something different to the story.

BeNeR’s Romantic Rebellion takes inspiration from Romanticism and traditional painting and brings it into a contemporary, urban world. Dekor’s graffiti and abstract forms bring movement, colour and a strong graphic energy, while my Modern Mythology takes gods and goddesses from ancient mythologies and reimagines them in the present.

‘’Skogsrå‘’ - Modern Mythology

Painted in Bristol, England for @upfest

Inspired by Swedish folklore, this artwork reimagines the Skogsrå, a mystical forest spirit believed to guard the wilderness. Traditionally described as a beautiful woman who appears deep within the woods, the Skogsrå represents nature’s mystery, power, and hidden knowledge.

Surrounded by mushrooms, pine cones, and ivy, she is portrayed here with a third eye, a modern symbol of awareness and connection to the unseen world. The piece explores the idea that nature holds wisdom beyond what we can immediately see.

Shout out to all the awesome artists that I met along the festival and to the whole team at upfest for the awesome and smooth curating. Much love ❤️ taken in Bristol, United Kingdom by @mister_copy

Proud to have taken part in this mural project in Dundalk, Ireland, celebrating The Corrs for @epso.ie and @dundalktown .

The band chose a reference image from their 2017 album cover, which became quite challenging to work from once enlarged, as the facial detail were significantly blurry. Translating that into a large-scale mural required a fair bit of interpretation while still trying to stay true to their likeness. It was a rewarding challenge figuring out how to balance accuracy with the limitations of the reference photo.

Big thanks to Martin for making the project happen and bringing colour and energy into Dundalk, and to Liam for making my life a lot easier every day. taken in Dundalk, Ireland by @mister_copy
