𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙧, the second single and title track from our new EP, is out now!

An anthem for the ambivalent participants of capitalism - aware of the prices we pay for survival and the hours we put in to (barely) afford it, ensuring a better way is always tomorrow’s problem 🤷‍♂️

Streaming wherever you get your music.
9/13 - full EP available for streaming
9/21 - release show at @danelectros

🎚️ 𝘌𝘕𝘌𝘙𝘎𝘐𝘡𝘌 ✨

Our new single 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙤𝙤𝙢 3 is here!

We wanted to release this song on North American Labor Day because it is about just that - Labor. Initially inspired by the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes last year, and the DS9 episode “Bar Association”, it’s been further inspiring to watch so many workers organize around the country. Support for unions actually feels more alive than ever!

With that, thank you immensely to everyone who worked on this song, including @aulternatives for the endless encouragement (and writing my favorite lyric in the song), and @tinytaupe for capturing the essence of the Enterprise-D transporter console.

𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙤𝙤𝙢 3 Is streaming everywhere, and our next single 𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙧 drops next Monday, 9/9!

Our new EP, 𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙧, is out now wherever you stream your music!

Whether in our work or the people we love, labor is the energy we invest in our time on the planet. These songs are about what happens when we get let go, and attempt to reclaim our value with a future more possible than we allow ourselves to consider and explore.

We end the record with a little levity through a reimagining of 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐱𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠 from Monty Python’s “The Meaning of Life.” Our dear friend @laurenshreddy kindly lended her voice for the intro 🙏 her band @raudiver also dropped their new record today, so please check it out as well!

Thank you to our incredibly talented and amazing friends who worked on this record with us. We’re grateful to have such a tight knit and supportive community on this planet that’s evolving and revolving at nine hundred miles an hour 🌎

✨💔𝐑𝐈𝐏 𝐂𝐦𝐝𝐫. 𝐑𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭💔✨

This week we said farewell to the best Number One a crew could have asked for. He ran a tight ship with a firm paw, but under his command you never had to worry if you’d make it through an ion storm, survive an encounter with the Caitian, or make it back alive from a precarious away mission. Songs were written in his honor, and his loyalty was unwavering. He was even a charismatic diplomat, and could always resolve a delicate peace treat-y 🍗

But most importantly - he was my friend, and I will miss him dearly. Thank you for 11 years of service 🫡

You might have noticed we more or less took the summer off. Why for? Well, we’re definitely not short on life changes around here. Here’s the season recap:

👋 left my hometown of Houston, TX
📦 moved to Austin, TX
💍 got engaged to @aulternatives
🏡 seeking out a new life and new vocations

How has relocating affected Mister Data? It’s certainly not over, but I have afforded myself some time off while my fiancée and I get settled in and appreciate this next chapter of our lives 📕

As proof of life, here’s me and a 42, tangible proof of engagement, and a guitar rendition of a chorus for a new song I’ve been kicking around for a while 🎸

In the near future it’s very likely we’ll commission some new bridge officers for the band, but until then, the Houston lineup will be back one more time later this Fall 🍂

Which is why we’re excited to announce we’ll be back to support @sorrysarahmusic at @contclubhouston on 11/29 for the release of their debut album! Tweezer is also on the bill, so don’t forget to bring any sweaters that you probably should have destroyed a long time ago 🧵

Thanks for sticking around and keeping your comms open to this channel. More transmission are imminent 🗣️

As always, LLAP 🖖

Special shoutout again to @blayzur for these snaps 📸 and turning the @danelectros stage into our own personal transporter room 🖖
