I figured from a young age that there's a binary within success. Achievement can be polarised quite easily. People will pursue goals independently for self gain. They want complete freedom to chase the crown.

But some people don't want to chase said crown. They aim to share it. Perhaps they have a belief that good experiences are to be bestowed and celebrated, or perhaps they just hate being alone with themselves and their thoughts.

Some people are team players. You can win for yourself or win for your team. These are two very different types of winning.

I think the important distinctions between these two states of mind is that one has a focus on the common goal. I think I could discuss the common goal forever.

Collaboration is not only a catalyst for creativity, it is a way to transcend individual limitations. Many great actions and creative endeavours have been the result of a bunch of people sitting in a living room and deciding to go make something happen.
I enjoy being able to share creative burdens with others. I enjoy building networks of growth and innovation.

Obviously and evidently, collaboration also carries large risk, so these decisions are rather contextually subjective.
Anyway, I've been mulling over ideas about collaboration in my head for a couple days. I would love to diversify my pilgrimage through life. I would love to do more.

Hey everybody !!

I have so many photos that I reject because I don't think they're good enough. Sometimes that can feel unfair, so I'm going to give 8 previous rejects a second chance. I hope you like them ! They have been growing on me the more I study them. Even the crappiest photos have redeeming qualities. by @misterdesmo

Graffiti is bit of a cyclical hobby. It's all just a circle of confidence, finance, health and motivation. An ego war fuelled by mental illness, disatisfaction with the world, self worth issues and probably some other factors.

Anyway, this year has been particularly tough. Australia's train systems have been getting totally belted (shout out to tiktok for getting these kids out of the house).
The streets are stained. The overspray on the tracks rocks is evident. Graffiti culture is very much alive and very much thriving !

Over the last few months I've seen countless sets of hiphop letters running across Sydney's train system, so I thought I'd share a couple photos with you all depicting the current state of the game.

To be honest, I think that benching as a hobby is supremely underrated. It is incredibly rewarding and although requires significant dedication of time and effort, I think it contributes something rather invaluable to graffiti culture. I'd probably do it full time for a job if I could.

I'm not much of a career photographer anymore, but I've always found that graffiti photography forces me to be extremely conscious and aware of my surroundings. The rhythmic buzz of trains along the network and eerie chimes of delay announcements echoing throughout the suburbs tend to make your senses rather acute. You never really know what can fly through past you. Impulsively pulling out your camera on a crowded rush hour platform or patiently waiting at a vantage point along the tracks, it can almost feel therapeutic at times.

In celebration of the culture, the colours and the complexity.

Your life is like a garden. There are different grasses, plants and trees that represent different components of your world. You can choose what to water. What you give your time and attention to.
Your life is like a garden because it is natural, and everything natural is built in God's own image. Your life is a garden.

When I was younger I worked at a butcher and I would always be so morbidly fascinated by meat and carcasses. I loved slicing apart cuts of meat with the band saw, examining every organ and stretch of fibrous muscle. It always made me a little sad when I had to mince apart huge sections of what was once a gargantuanly gentle and intruiging creature. All these wonderful pieces of a puzzle.

I think my curiosity when it comes to living forms has never really faded. I get real satisfaction out of running my hands down somebody's collarbone or squeezing flesh in my hands. I love feeling bone and skin in my hands. Humans are so beautiful in their design and I'm always catching myself smiling at the most simple of things.

I used to do a bit of casual landscaping when I was a bit younger. I remember thinking "wow, these leaves have an uncanny resemblance to a ribcage".
I think this has slowly reinforced my belief that humans will never design anything that will ever come close to the efficient, reliable and sleek innovation of mother nature.

I love nature. I love Mother nature. I love God. I love green, in every shade. by @misterdesmo

I've been playing the concept of revenge over in my head recently.

I've spent hours reading and listening to accounts of varying detail written by men and women who grew up seeking vengeance.
I sit there at the dinner table, train station, pub, and drink them up as if they're a glass of apple juice I've paired with the morning newspaper. What a breakfast of champions.

"You are judgemental and shallow," I tell myself, but I keep reading. I eat my heart out. I wish uselessly for some sort of magic that could give me the childhood I wish I had, and this is a selfish, selfish thing;

I wish I experienced a life without ever feeling the urge to seek out revenge or retribution. I wish I had never experienced the need to get back at somebody because of my own fractured ego.

I bargain with myself and the universe. I say that I wouldn't have acted out as much. That I'd have understood from the start that the bad in them is the bad in me, and that we are all meant to send each other to hell.

I say that I would trade this gnawing but insatiable hunger to get even for the most sterile of childhoods as long as I was free from pain and then, in the same breath, collapse and lose myself, relinquishing my soul into a black hole. I will never know what it's like, and that is a good thing.

Those who have suffered through it are branded with something that I will never know. Then so I should be ashamed to wholly covet that revoltingly domesticated and tortured iron.

But blood did rain. That great and terrible sea cries out. Evil begets evil. by @misterdesmo

Do you remember
A time before all that you knew
When things felt slightly better
When things didn't feel so fucked up

A time when the grass was just a little bit greener
The birds chirped a little bit louder
The cola was more sugary
There was less desperation in the air

And everything was made from wood
Everything had a pattern or style
There was intention behind everything

But attachment causes suffering
It causes angst
It creates a pretermined fear of losing something you find so sentimentally valuable

You cannot be spiritually aware whilst blindly following false gods and idols

Constantly exposing yourself to popular culture and mass media will eventually begin to warp and shape your perception of reality in ways that probably wouldn't be deemed as beneficial to your life purpose or calling

You must learn detachment
Because the things that you have are already gone
They have already left you
You just don't know when
Appreciate these things for what they are
Love them with all your heart
Accept they will eventually be stardust by @misterdesmo

I've encountered a wide variety of people in my life. I've met smart people. I've met dumb people. I've met doers and lackers. I think the biggest separation between people is their output, which unfortunately, is generally how we value each other in society.

I recognise many people get caught up in their own head, they consider too much, myself included. An overly tactical instead of a proactive approach. I think this concept is one of those cases where ignorance is bliss. The less introspection and overthinking you do, the better your ability to translate thoughts into actions. Occasionally I find myself wishing that I was a bit more slow or just less active in the mind in hopes that I'd spend less time wigging out in my own head and more time putting work into the things that translate to output.

I truly do value wealth and success through experience, love and community, but this doesn't discount the fact that people need money to survive. We all do. Frankly, I don't wish to live in a world that is dictated by a number in a bank account or a status within a company. I'm completely uninterested in the stress & pressure that comes from the ruthlessly competitive world that we live within.

Instead of praying for change, I'm slowly learning that my fierce independent tendencies and lack of regard for many parts of societal conduct allow me to sort of bounce throughout the world with a certain mindfulness that really tends to nullify my stress as long as I'm taking photos and remaining physically active. Playing music helps also. Anyway, turn your words into actions. Just have a go. Put your phone down and go do it. Right now. Allowing your notifications to pile up a little will probably give you a cheeky dopamine rush anyway ! by @misterdesmo

Recently I read some meme about human language that made me think a little deeper on the subject. About how being able to effectively articulate your thoughts and feelings is arguably one of the most valuable traits one can possess.

It's like we can cast these magical spells with our mouths. We can tell others of our dreams, fears, experiences and emotions. We can ruin someone's day with these spells. We can make their day also. We can wreak havoc on a community. We can destroy relationships, but we can also make them infinitely stronger.

These magic spells hold an incomprehensible weight. We should attempt to consider the aftermath of casting such spells, but this is obviously rather difficult at times given the ease of accessibility.

Historically, some alphabets were directly associated with magic and spells. Elder and younger Futhark language (known in modern day as Norse Runic) invoked great spiritual power and many inscriptions represent spells of healing, strength, protection and more.

There is a lot of power in the words we speak. It doesn't always have to be this deep, but it can be. That is the important bit. The potential for language to change the world !

Promise, deception, inspiration, influencing action and the shaping of reality are some of the many results of the impactful utilisation of human language that come to my mind. Do not discount yourself or the impact you can have on those around you. Your words matter if you make them matter. The spells you cast have consequences. Do not underestimate the influence and power you wield with words. by @misterdesmo

Faith and fear are only separated by what you choose to believe in. Overcoming challenges through utilisation of faith is perhaps one of the most simple and spiritually rewarding techniques to solve this issue. Throughout my life, like most, I have overcome plenty of adversity. The human experience is not always a pretty place.

The word faith is rooted with the Latin word 'fidēs'  which roughly translates to trust. Throughout history trust is regarded as one of the most imperative characteristics a person can have. From the Garden of Eden to the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice, faith and trust are displayed as cornerstones of human values. These historical stories often demonstrate the consequences a lack of faith can result in.

I'm a firm believer in the idea that your thoughts become your reality. Not manifestation, per say, but I think that your life becomes what you live. As an example if you live and breathe basketball, you consume basketball media, have basketball related social circles, play lots of basketball etc. I think your path will have largely increased chances of ending up in a basketball related lifestyle. I don't even think people can control this to a certain extent.

Since we live a life partially out of our own hands (I think we're dictated by animal nature much more than we care to admit), I think it's important to live our lives with the unbreakable and unwavering belief that god is looking down on us. That as long as we trust in him, he will trust in us in return and reward us accordingly. This faith supercharges us with something that is very special. It supercharges us with self belief. It heightens our senses, clears our minds and most of all can put us into that magical flow state that allows us to accomplish absolutely whatever we deem necessary.

In the end, living is not "acting", "pretending" or "being delusional". Living is the direct result of being present within your body and recognising the importance of your actions and behaviours on earth. If you move with faith, trust and belief, you will feel more conscious. You will feel more alive. by @misterdesmo
