Happy #pride to everyone!

It's frankly unbelievable that LGBTQIA+ community members continue to face persecution, stereotyping, scapegoating, and dehumanisation here and elsewhere in the world. It's equally mind-boggling that there are people who devote a not insignificant portion of their thoughts and lives towards hating community members and allies because of... upbringing? Religion? Stereotypes disguised as facts? Combination of all of the above?

Approximately 1.3M Canadians publicly identify as belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community. (Remember that many more live in fear of coming out.) That's a lot of Canadians.

Granting, protecting, and advocating for the rights of community members doesn't cost you anything. It won't make your life worse. In fact, diversity will only make you better.

Don't be a jerk. Love all, respect all.

At a conference to discuss the future of democracy (and whether to laugh or cry about it - or both), how to combat the penetration of disinformation in society, and how to educate the next generation to be critically and comprehensively literate and politically knowledgeable and active by @mistersir207
