POSTS STORIES REELS
Eight months of posting. Zero clients from it. I was doing everything “right.” Posting consistently, decent lighting, decent hooks. But when I went back and read my last 30 posts like a stranger would, it was obvious: every single one was about me. My work, my process, my opinions. None of it solved a problem for anyone reading it. I blamed the algorithm. I blamed the niche. I blamed everything but the content. I almost deleted the whole account. Instead I rebuilt every post around one question: what does this person need to hear right now. Same effort. Same time behind the camera. Completely different results. Save this if you’re posting into silence right now. The problem usually isn’t how much you’re posting. Comment SYSTEM and I’ll send you the framework I use to plan content around what people actually need, not what I feel like saying. #ContentStrategy #PersonalBranding #ContentCreators #InstagramGrowth #CreatorTips by @misterwil
You’re probably not inconsistent because you’re lazy.
You’re inconsistent because every time you try to create content… you’re starting from zero. No plan.
No structure.
No clear idea what to say.
No system for filming. So your brain turns content creation into this massive open loop that feels exhausting before you even hit record. That’s why creators procrastinate.
 Not because they don’t care.
Because friction compounds. The biggest shift in my content process came from borrowing one thing from real film sets: Pre-production. On professional shoots, nobody “figures it out” on the day.
The creative decisions are already made beforehand. That changed everything for me as a solo creator. In this video I break down:
• why content feels mentally heavy
• the psychology behind inconsistency
• what professional productions do differently
This is the foundation behind everything I teach inside my content systems. Comment SYSTEM and I’ll DM you the full YouTube video. 👇 #contentcreator #personalbranding #contentstrategy #creativeworkflow #creatorstrategy by @misterwil
Most things worth building look unimpressive at the beginning. The first version is usually rough.
 Small.
Maybe even a little embarrassing. And that’s the part people don’t see when they look at the finished result. They don’t see the 1000 small decisions. The posts that didn’t work. The projects that got abandoned. The days you showed up when nobody was paying attention. They just see the outcome and call it luck. But growth rarely looks like growth while you’re in it. It looks like repetition.
It looks like patience.
It looks like continuing to add one small thing at a time. Nature doesn’t rush a season. Neither should you. Keep showing up. The compounding is happening, even when you can’t see it yet. #Consistency #PersonalGrowth #LongTermThinking #CreativeJourney #KeepGoing by @misterwil
Most people are still judging their content by likes. But a like takes one tap. A save means someone saw your content and thought: “I might need this later.” That’s a completely different kind of signal. The content people save is usually useful enough to come back to. Frameworks. Checklists. Step-by-steps. Ideas they want to reference when they’re actually ready to take action. So instead of asking: “Will people like this?” Start asking: “Will someone need this later?” That’s how I think about content. Not just creating things people scroll past, but building ideas people want to keep. Most people spend way too much time trying to figure out what category they belong in. Coach.
Consultant.
Creator.
Strategist. But that’s not positioning. That’s just the label on the box. The brands that actually stand out usually own something more specific: Who they help.
 What they help them achieve.
And how they get them there. Because if I can take your Instagram post, change your name to your competitor’s, and nobody notices... you haven’t really built a position. You’ve built a niche. And there’s a big difference. Your positioning should make someone think: “This is exactly for me.” And ideally: “I don’t know anyone else who does it quite like this.” That’s the goal. Not being louder than everyone else, or similar to your competitors. Being specific enough that the right people know you’re talking to them. #Positioning #PersonalBranding #BrandStrategy #ContentStrategy #FounderBrand by @misterwil
Most people think carousels blew up because Instagram “likes” the format. That’s not quite it. Carousels get something no other post type gets: a second shot. Instagram tracks how many people swipe through to slide 3, and if enough of them do, it re-serves the whole carousel to a fresh batch of people a day or two later. Nothing else on the platform works that way. A Reel either takes off in the first few hours or it doesn’t. A carousel gets a re-roll. But that re-roll isn’t automatic. It’s earned at one specific point: slide 3. That’s the checkpoint where Instagram decides whether your carousel is worth pushing further. Miss it, and the post doesn’t crash, it just quietly stops. No warning, no second chance. Which is why I never write a carousel start to finish and hope it holds attention. I build backward from slide 3. What has to be true by the time someone gets there for them to keep going. Save this if you post carousels regularly, and check your last few, did people actually make it to slide 3? Want yours engineered the same way instead of written and hoped for? Link in bio. #InstagramAlgorithm #CarouselTips #ContentStrategy #SocialMediaGrowth #ContentCreators by @misterwil
Nobody talks about the mornings where nothing in you wants to show up. Motivation is loud when it arrives and gone just as fast. It was never something you could build a life on. Discipline is quieter. It doesn’t ask how you feel. It just asks if you’re going to do the work anyway, feeling or no feeling. Every person you admire for their consistency has had a hundred mornings like this one. The difference isn’t that they felt more inspired. It’s that they stopped waiting to feel like it before they started. One rep. One page. One rough draft nobody sees. That’s the whole secret, and it was never really a secret. If this caught you at the right moment, save it for the next morning you need it. #discipline #motivation #consistencyiskey #mindsetshift #dailyhabits by @misterwil
I used to think being a good content creator meant being spontaneous. Show up, hit record, let it happen. Thirteen years on professional sets taught me the opposite. The days that looked effortless were the days everything was already decided before anyone touched a camera. That’s the part nobody sees on Instagram. Not the shot, the decision behind the shot. So this week I broke down my own pre-production checklist, the one I still run before every shoot, and translated it into what it actually looks like for someone filming alone with a phone. Not a watered-down version. The same decisions, just scaled to one person instead of a twelve-person crew. If you’ve ever sat down to film and felt stuck before you even pressed record, it’s usually not a content problem. It’s a sequencing problem. You’re trying to make five decisions in the same five minutes you’re supposed to be filming. Save this one and run through it before your next shoot day. Want the actual checklist as a PDF you can keep? Comment SYSTEM and I’ll send it your way. #ContentStrategy #PreProduction #ContentCreation #CreatorTips #InstagramGrowth by @misterwil
Instagram is still the cheapest lead generation channel that exists, if you actually use it like one. Most personal brands treat it like a diary. They post when they feel like it, about whatever’s on their mind, and wonder why strangers don’t turn into clients. Meanwhile they’re paying for ads to fix a problem their own content could solve for free. Here’s the thing nobody tells you: your feed is already a funnel, whether you’re using it as one or not. Every post either builds authority, builds connection, or makes the offer. If you’re only doing one of those, you’re leaving the other two undone, and that’s the actual reason growth stalls, not the algorithm, not your follower count, not a bad hook. Authority content proves you know what you’re doing. Connection content makes people like and trust you enough to stick around. Offer content tells them exactly what to buy and why. Most accounts overdo the one they’re most comfortable with and skip the other two: coaches over-explain, creators build connection and never sell, consultants pitch and never earn trust first. You don’t need a bigger budget to grow a personal brand. You need your existing content to actually cover all three jobs it’s supposed to be doing. That’s the difference between an account that gets views and one that quietly generates leads every week without spending a dollar on ads. Save this and audit your last 10 posts against these three pillars. You’ll see exactly where the gap is. I’ve audited dozens of personal brands with strong content and zero bookings. The pattern is always the same: great posts, vague positioning. People like the content, they just can’t tell you what makes you the person to hire. That’s not a content problem. It’s a positioning problem, and it’s fixable in a weekend once you see it. Free advice: read your bio out loud to someone who’s never met you. Time it. If they can’t tell you who you help and why in under 5 seconds, that’s your answer. Swipe through, then run the exercise on your own profile. Save this so you don’t skip it. DM me “AUDIT” if you’d rather I just do it for you. by @misterwil
Here’s specifically what I teach when I run these workshops and what’s inside the system I’m building. Lighting: how to read the light you already have in a room instead of buying gear you don’t need yet, and when it’s actually worth adding a light. Framing and composition: why a shot feels flat even when the lighting is good, and the handful of choices (angle, depth, movement) that make footage look intentional instead of accidental. Color grading: building one consistent look across your grid instead of every post feeling like it was shot by a different person. Pre-production: the part almost nobody does. Scripting the shoot, deciding wardrobe and shot list ahead of time, so the day you actually film is execution, not guesswork. None of this requires years on professional sets. It requires knowing which of these actually move the needle and which ones are noise, and doing them in the right order. That’s the gap I saw in every workshop I ran here, and it’s what I’m building a system around now. I’ve spent years on professional sets, and if there’s one thing they taught me, it’s this: you don’t figure out the shot when you’re already shooting it. The decisions happen before. What are we getting?
What’s the story?
What shots do we need?
What does the scene need to feel like? I’ve started treating my own content the same way. Instead of opening my camera and thinking, “what the hell am I going to make today?” I already have ideas. I already know the point. I already have the hook. By the time I sit down to script, I’m not creating from scratch. I’m just building the piece. And honestly, the script doesn’t need to be some perfectly written monologue. Mine are usually just bullet points, a few beats, and a CTA. That’s enough. Because pre-production isn’t about making everything rigid. Things will change once you start filming. They should. It’s about removing the unnecessary decisions so you have more room to actually create. Plan before you produce.
Then let the production breathe. Comment SYSTEM and I’ll send you the framework I use to plan a week of content before I ever pick up a camera. #PreProduction #ContentSystem #ContentStrategy #PersonalBrand #CreatorTips by @misterwil
