I have been to myself a lot lately. This is a Monday mental health post.
Some of the strongest most positive people you know are suffering and not telling you !
Suffering from depression suffering from anxiety and stress.
I had to step back to take care of myself and it’s been really tough but necessary.
Be mindful to have empathy and try to understand that putting more expectations on people in this state only makes it worse.
Even basic tasks can actually be so overwhelming! Like making coffee ☕️ or getting out of bed etc ….
Social media . Pshhhh daunting af !

And if you find yourself battling these things you’re not alone !

Chronic fatigue and intense migraines have caused my body to shut down so many times.
I haven’t shared much of my journey but I will be. Take care of you first no matter the cost. The real ones will let you have your time and understand.

One day one task one thought ! 💭 keep walking keep moving but give yourself grace and space.

Rose colored glasses 👓

I was talking with my creative friend — a fellow business owner and the person behind this photo — about the ways we move through life as artists, creatives, and entrepreneurs. We talked about the stories we carry, the pressure of building something of our own, and how much our mental health can shape the way we see everything.

I told him I bought these glasses as a reminder to shift my perspective when I need to. Not to ignore the hard things, but to give myself permission to look for beauty in the middle of them.

Somehow, that conversation naturally turned into this photo in my studio. No big plan — just two creatives sharing stories, talking honestly, and making something from the moment.

I think that’s what we do as artists.
We turn what we’re surviving into something beautiful.

Sometimes you have to choose the lens. 🌹🔥

A lot of my art was born long before I ever called myself an artist.

As a little girl, when things at home got loud and scary, I would turn the music up louder. I’d dance for hours. I’d sing. I’d create little worlds where I could disappear for a while.
I never had the chance to even take an actual formal dance classes.

I didn’t know it then, but creating became a language for everything I didn’t know how to say.

I think that’s part of the beautiful struggle of being an artist. We feel deeply. We question ourselves. We reinvent. We turn heartbreak, fear, joy, rejection and all the messy parts of being human into something someone else can feel.

Sometimes the thing that once helped you escape becomes the thing that helps you come home to yourself.

And maybe that’s the gift of it all. 🖤

Nothing was handed to me. I learned early how to make something out of nothing.

I watched my mother do it first. When times were hard, somehow she could still make something happen. Make a home. Make a way. Make it beautiful. Create abundance where there wasn’t much to work with.

I think that’s where the artist in me was born.

People see creativity and think it looks effortless. They see the finished room, the show, the studio, the movement, the beautiful thing after it has already become beautiful. They don’t see how many times I’ve had to become someone new to create it.

I’ve reinvented myself more times than I can count.

I managed a recording studio. Moved with it to Nashville — what a beautifully wild chapter that was. Built another life with L’Oréal. Then started over again.

Seven years in Charlotte. Six years producing shows. Four years building a studio from the ground up.

Still creating. Still changing. Still making something out of nothing.

And somehow, after everything I’ve built, there’s still a voice inside me whispering: There’s more to do.

Maybe that’s the beautiful and dangerous thing about being a creative. You can build an entire world with your bare hands and still stand in the middle of it wondering what you should build next.

I’m learning that continuing doesn’t always mean proving something. Sometimes continuing means looking around at everything you once dreamed of creating and allowing yourself to say:

This is something. I made this. And for today, this is enough.

But tomorrow? I’ll probably create again. It’s what I know how to do.

Is it ever enough?
