This was so much fun!! I got to make an artificial lei using paper and beads for an Aulani Cast member contest. This 6 strand lei was hand punched and worth it. The process was therapeutic and quite lengthy but well rewarding. I might use the cricut next time but I wanted to put some extra mana in it lol 🤣😉
Thinking of doing another in red or yellow 🤔

🍂🌺 ʻE Lei Kākou 🌺🍂

A look back at our September 27 ʻE Lei Kākou class, where we brought a little fall spirit into our lei making! Our kūpuna and community came together to create beautiful fall-inspired wreaths while sharing time, creativity, and aloha. 🍁🌿

Mahalo to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. 💛 taken in Kapolei Heritage Center by @mitaara

Aloha, this heartfelt letter is being shared by my Aunty Micheline Kane, who helps organize the Kalama Cultural Festival in Washington. There was an video clip shared on IG shaming the volunteers and ulu maika station at the festival. Its been 1 week since the festival ended and this response letter holds information, history of the festival, passion for our Lāhui, inner turmoil, but also peace of mind. In all things, aloha is our way of life and we'll grow from this lesson. Pls keep comments pono but even if they're not, aloha will be my response 🤗

Last week, we got to kokua at Kalama Cultural Festival in Kalama, Washington ❤️ Our Aunty Micheline Kane is 1 of the longtime volunteer/coordinator/culturalconnector/you name it...she wears so many hats for this beautiful event alongside with Port of Kalama crew 🤙🏾Shout out to Mark, @miumiumissy, Krista and the POK staff who organized/setup/executed/cleanup this awesome event! You all deserve foot massages lol Mahalo for letting us be your extensions of hands, legs, energy, and mana. We made friends with new faces and reaquaintances from those returning from last year.
We got to meet Uncle Walter Tavares who emcee'd along our lovely Ala, whos been doing it for over 5 years. Our activities included lei workshops, ulu maika station, attending the luau and performances, supporting local vendors/artisans, enjoying some good music from Seven Suns, and more....all the while spending time with our Aunties and Uncle who live in Washington....and WITH warm jackets lol it got cold 🥶 in the mid afternoon till the night 🤣
Mahalo again for the opportunity to lift our Lāhui and share mo'olelo with all who attended this 2026 year
🥰💪🏽😍🙌🏽
