Years ago I painted Octavius from @blackcrowminiatures and mounted him in this lovely wood from @jakobjanssenstudios. A few years later I finished Odin and the piece of wood I got had a little space for one more. Cormac really has been a testament to my painting journey and these busts have pushed me to improve in freehand, lighting, focusing the composition. After years of cruel experiments and manipulation Marcus as broken free and is wrecking the facility. This model, from @paoloparente65 game Dust Tactics, has been in my imagination for a long time. The basic concept of the cybernetic gorilla breaking through a door with pieces flying was always there. During construction out occurred that he could be pursuing someone. I was so happy to find the perfect model for this from @bestiarum.games . The rest is kit bashed from #warhammer40k bits. A tiny detail is the hallway I painted onto a small piece of card. The Dance

I have always enjoyed the art of people like @morose.miniatures and how they convert the war figures we build and paint into a whole new context. I was fishing around in my closet of ideas (not shame) when I found some #kairicacolytes from #warhamemrunderworlds and with a quick snip their swords were gone. Their striking poses already reminded me of the 40K Harlequins and the idea of the dance reminds me of my wife and I and how we will dance together from time to time.

Lego Space Man Skull. Some times the simplest model gives you freedom to play with textures and colors. 90% of this @sciborminiatures was done with just bits of sponge. Mounted on another fine base from @jakobjanssenstudios

Unspeakable Horror - the bust is from @abyssoul_fp titled Nonna Isabella. I really wanted to experiment with wild color contrast and that look of terror. Got some random Reaper minis from @jakobjanssenstudios and I was immediately inspired by the trope of holding someone back with one arm (see last picture for example). The wizard is definitely entertained!

The Fox in the Forest. Here I was inspired by one of my favorite artists @romanlappat.miniatureart following a tutorial on painting a fox. I picked a different fox model but as soon as I saw it on the rock I knew what I wanted to do. I had these resin bases from @tabletopartshop that had slate looking rocks so I incorporated that along with shelf mushrooms and vines. It was a huge success and one of my favorite pieces I had painted recently. #miniaturespainting #nature #forest #fox #wimsical by @mitb
