Hunting and outdoors.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Stoked to get my first Bull Tahr. Managed to get the job done in a 3 hour window over four days of poor weather. Shot at 250 Yards while he stood on a bluff. We then caped him out on the side of the hill in 60km winds while it was snowing. What an experience. NZ weather can be humbling. #NewZealand #bulltahr #mckenziecountry by @mitch_pocko

These deer never cease to amaze me. Thoroughly enjoying learning and watching them. We had this encounter heading out to a block where we pulled over to observe a small herd of hinds. The Matriarch chose to stay alert and keep eyes on the threat while the rest of the herd pushed off, she then drops to the back to be rear Gaurd. by @mitch_pocko

Mixed feelings about these wind turbines.

Pretty surreal standing underneath them and seeing the sheer scale up close. It’s hard to ignore the impact on the landscape — the skyline, country torn up for access and infrastructure, and the enormous amount of concrete and steel that goes into each one.

Definitely casts a bit of a shadow over the “green” label when you see the physical footprint firsthand.

Still, pretty bloody cool being out hunting amongst them. A strange mix of wild country and massive engineering. by @mitch_pocko

Making memories this morning with a different sort of carry out, the two legged kind. Didn’t get to see any deer on our block but saw a mob of stags on the way home. by @mitch_pocko
