The IMD B.Des Minor Semester 7 “ AR Module Foyer Display “ was held offline on 15 October 2026, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at the ground floor foyer of the IOD Academic Building.

Organised as part of the AR Module course by the Immersive Media Design Department, the display provided students with a platform to showcase their projects and demonstrate their understanding and application of Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR).

Through hands-on experimentation with software such as Unity and TouchDesigner, students explored diverse approaches to developing immersive experiences using technologies such as headsets and projection-based systems. Each student presented a unique concept, demonstrating how creative thinking, technology and design can come together to create engaging interactive experiences. The display encouraged interaction with visitors, peers and faculty, fostering feedback, the exchange of ideas and an appreciation of the diverse possibilities of immersive media.

Geetanjali Rao

Gitanjali Rao is a celebrated Indian animator, film director, illustrator, and theatre actress known for her hand-painted, frame-by-frame animated films that explore the lives and dreams of ordinary people in Mumbai.

Bombay Rose (2019): Her feature-length directorial debut, which weaves hand-painted animation with stories of romance and survival on the streets of Mumbai.

• Won over 30 international awards across various film festivals.
• Served on international festival juries, including the Cannes Critics’ Week.
• Received the Locarno Kids Award la Mobiliare in 2022.

MIT Institute of Design, Pune hosted Claude for College Builders at MIT-ADT University, bringing engineering and design students together for a three-hour, hands-on session on building with AI.

The session moved beyond the hype and into practical application, covering how to work with AI agents, how to design verifiable workflows, and how to connect Figma with Claude through MCP. Students and faculty also took part in an open conversation about what it means to build responsibly with these technologies.

We thank Sumeet Doshi, Claude Community Ambassador, India, for an engaging session and for the practical insights he shared with our community.
