POSTS STORIES REELS

I’m not one to write overly sentimental commentary, but yesterday was the anniversary of me taking my late Father to his first @audramcdonald concert and I found the program the other week. Recently, I was able to bring her to Tiny Desk via this latest production of @gypsybway. I find myself sitting in a place of profound gratitude, reflecting on the opportunity and how it was a full circle moment in my life. So carousel the carousel for my random musings. by @mitra_arthur

Today we launch our crowdfunding campaign for The Beauty in Trying (@tbitfilm)!
The Beauty in Trying is a visual exploration of dance for healing. Through one woman's story, this short film looks at the importance of art in our lives and how finding an outlet as such helps us heal and grow.

Please check out our website and our @seedandspark Campaign (link in bio). We hope that you’ll support this film and donate what you can. Also, please Retweet/Forward/Share with your networks.
Thank you!

In anticipation of our upcoming documentary, GRAPHITE & WAR, we'll be showcasing select pieces from Rick Bartow's collection to celebrate the wide-reaching impact of his work.

Bartow's work can be found in more than 100 museums and cultural institutions across the U.S.

This piece, "Buck," a self-portrait from his later career inspired by his reflections of his time during the Vietnam War, is currently part of the collections of the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (@jsmauo) in Eugene, Oregon.

Earlier this year, we were awarded a grant from @visionmakermedia to help us fund a good portion of post on GRAPHITE & WAR. We’re thankful for this opportunity and getting us one step closer to completing our film. And what better way celebrate this news than to show you all some first look images from the documentary! More news coming soon. by @mitra_arthur

I don’t know that there are words that capture her life, her energy, her joys, her successes, her pains, and her sorrows. What I know is there will never on this Earth be another like Anna Mae Bullock. Rest well Queen Tina. (Tina Turner in concert in Versailles, France, 1990 (Getty Images/HBO) by @mitra_arthur

At my core, I’m a Black Theatre Nerd. So snagging these from the incredible folks at @blkmktvintage was a must.
