Involuntarily hiatus. Damn you, vertigo!!!! by @mitrafabian

Looking back into the archives today. This was one of the very first pieces I completed with porcelain and resistors. I sold it at the Start Up Art Fair in San Francisco.

All joking aside with that last reel, this is the most recent sculpture I finished. No title yet and it still needs a hanging mechanism so that it can mounted on the wall. But, I’m really loving the floppiness of these extruded coils in contrast to the 3D printed elements.

Here is another piece I made at @watershedceramics this summer. @camilafgceramics printed the orb on her adorable clay printer (thank you!). Bright blue resistors completed the sculpture.

This turkey is well done.
Ceramic, resistors, diodes by @mitrafabian

School starts next week, and I’m thinking about all that happened this summer- east coast travels, seeing art, making art, Watershed residency, garden, yard, family, dog. I’m grateful. by @mitrafabian

Sometimes I need to support my sculptures in the weirdest ways in order to glue the resistors in place. I don’t know if this is an industrial dish rack or something you roast a turkey on, but it (with a vintage 80’s T) is the perfect cradle for this baby. WIP

Two WIP’s for today’s post. Fingers crossed on the ones in the kiln. 🤞🤞
