Officially introducing new model
Mahi Mahi for bigger days.
I tested last week for Town & County 3-5’ pretty solid kind.
I made some drops that I thought I wouldn’t make. That means this board surfs better than me.
It’s kind of retro looking with beak nose and wider nose outline.
No concave all the way ( slight double barrels between fin though)
Super thick nose to make drops before too late.
Step rails for slicing waves to keep high line.
Vee bottom will stick to the surface of waves without bouncing in control.
Thruster is better for top turns quad is dependable for deep bottom turns…

Not too many people wants to have Gun shape because they don’t want to go for big.
But you often bump into big surf especially in Hawaii.
If you’re scared of big surf, you better have a right board before too late to drop.
Just sit outside and stand up with Mahi Mahi.👍🏼

Fish might be the best board to express yourself.
But it’s not easy to catch good ones because of the length.
There are too many guys out there with mid and long. They will stand up before you paddle.
So I usually recommend slightly longer, thicker and wider but smaller is more fun once you stand up.
Wave has to be clean , not too small not too big with long shoulder ideally for fish.
Don’t expect to catch many waves but it worth for sure.

Eps Nelson model hasn’t been changed anything for a decade.
It’s completed and matured.

My 2nd job has been consistent as long as surf is consistent.
I’ll fix almost whatever if you still love your boards.
Don’t leave dings, they won’t be healed automatically but they will get worse like cavities 🦷 Hahaha by @mitsudesign

Ok ok It’s winter time.
After thinking too much, I decided to make a mini gun for this season. 611-20-2.6 called Mahi Mahi.
I want to catch biiig waves but not too big and not too small either.
I have 9’ and 9’6 serious guns but I haven’t really ridden them.
My condition and wave condition have to be good enough to surf big days 10’++

So I made this Mahi Mahi. It’s kind of small size as a step-up for 3-6’
so that I can still duck dives and turn quickly not just going straight 😅

I made the nose area extremely thick with beak nose to catch before too steep😅 and narrow pin tail to fit better in the pockets.
Another feature is there’s no concave. It’s basically slight vee bottom all the way because I don’t want extra speed for big day.
It’s already fast and too fast with concave for me.
I don’t want it skipping or bouncing but sticking and connecting to control better.
I rode two times for clean condition and I like it👍🏼 but not sure for 6-8 solid ones yet.

そろそろ冬物語が始まります。
もう　あんまりデッカいのは怖くて行けないけど　そこそこ大きいのはやっぱり乗りたい。
9や9‘6のGun持ってるけど　とにかくアウトから乗るだけで　攻めるサーフィンではないのは確か。
悩んだ挙句611-20-2、6で長いけど細めで薄めにしてみた。なんとかドルフィンが出来て　掘れてる所でもターンが出来るイメージで。
そして　コンケイプ無しのVボトムで常に板と波の一体感を重視して　ノーズエリアは思いっきり厚めでドピークから乗れるように。
カラーはアドリブで適当だけど気に入ってます。　タウンとノースで乗ったばかりだけど　想像以上に調子いいです。
風の入ったヤバいサイズではどうなるのか？ですけど今年はコレでマイペースなNorth Shoreを楽しみたいでーす。 by @mitsudesign

Smoked Fish 5’9”
CP clear glassing.
This is how it came out Carbon Powder glassing without any colors added to resin.
It’s just like a black tint look.
But remember Carbon powder is not for the look but the functional reason.
It’s hard to explain what it feels like. But basically it’s something between full carbon and non carbon. It’ll still flex but better response…. by @mitsudesign

DHM2 got double wing moon tail and slight double concave under back foot for more busy style compared to DHM1.
Diamond nose and the fancy tail design make you feel and surf another level.
610-21.5-2.75 with my original color design.
If you tell me what colors you like,
I’ll do something for your board.
I’m not really an artist but good enough 🤣
Just wax it up and go! No body really cares about the colors after a week but every body will keep watching how you surf. by @mitsudesign

Akule is also quite a matured shape design among my original models since 2004？
I was riding fish at that time but found out fish(no center fin) wouldn’t work if no clean long shoulder.
So I attached 80’ high bump wing squash tail like Tom’s black beauty with thruster fin setup.
The idea is catch waves with round fish nose and turn quicker than twin or quad.
Result? Akule makes many people happy even for bumpy conditions. by @mitsudesign

September will be gone soon.

I can fix anything just time is matter. Sometimes I never know how long snd how hard it’s going to be until start working on it
Especially EPS.
Usually it’s still wet, damage is bigger than the look, hard to fill it up, taking longer time to cure, not easy to sand ….
Yes I can make some $$ at the end but I have to spend plenty time to do 5-6 steps. So it’s not really easy money.

Then Why do I repair? I think it’s because I feel good after saving the broken surfboards.
I feel like I’m a doctor 😆

相変わらず副業で修理やってます。
口コミで　次から次へと仕事入って来ます。　多分　私が島で一番速くて安いんじゃないかな😆
時間ばっかりかかって　割は全然良くないけどね。　どんなに大変なのも終わってしまえば　もう忘れちゃうけど　やってる最中は　“こんなに大変だから思いっきりお金もらうぜ”っていつも思う。　弱気な値段を請求するんだけど　大体みんな　それ以上くれたりして　Happy end
