Running a physical space is not something we ever thought we’d get to do. Seeing all of your beautiful faces beyond the screen has been a true gift, babes. Ugh, what is this life even?

16,000 people have died because of the heat in Germany this year. And while climate alarmism is not our preferred genre… that is, like, five times more than the annual number of deaths caused by car accidents.

Yet, dear, Berlin chooses to cut down its trees. New city leadership has just been elected, yes, but the Torstraße “renovation” plan, set to reinforce the urban heat-island effect, is still in place, just so you know.

We ride for Torstraße, of course. Our team lives here. Our HQ, Mitte Büro, is based here. We can’t stand the thought of a 3.5-year construction purgatory that cuts the sidewalk in half, preserves four lanes of car traffic, and kills 40 lindens along the way.

We’re not alone in this, thankfully. The whole neighbourhood is not exactly ecstatic either. In fact, public push-back has been on for weeks. This Wednesday, September 23, we’ll be gathering again.

From 5 p.m., meet us on the corner of Tucholskystraße for the @bi_lebendige_torstrasse demo. From 6:30 p.m., make your way to Mitte Büro at Torstraße 170 to continue the conversation over apéro, courtesy of @brasserietorbar.
