Indigenous Peoples’ Day PHX Fest🪶

I once heard a Native painter say “Native art is art created by Natives.” I thought about that all day.

Our culture isn’t something behind glass. It’s alive, and it’s moving. Traditional and contemporary, elders and youth, all in the same space. Not one or the other. All of it is Native art, because it’s made by us.

Thank you @cahokiaphx for creating this space, and to everyone who shared their gifts:

Safe to say that summer is over and somehow we’ve crept into fall. Our trip to Phoenix was busy, and hot, but we had such a fun time visiting the grandparents. Miss Athaylia met @danieltigertv while visiting grandma @childmusephx, and fed stingrays with cheii at @phoenixzoo. @mrs_moarth and I even got to sneak away and watch a movie. by @mittyarthur

Ahe’hee Askwali Thank you to everyone who came out for Indigenous Peoples’ Day and showed some love. Your continued love and support means so much

A huge thank you to @cahokiaphx for collaborating with us on live screen printing and creating space for us to be part of this day🪶

Days like these remind me of the power of community. Coming together, creating, celebrating, and supporting one another

This is us taking our land back. It might not be through the same force and displacement used against our people but thru our existence, our creativity, our cultures, our businesses, our communities. By reclaiming our narratives, our ability to be resilient, taking up space, and creating more opportunities for those who come after us .

We are still here. We never left. And there is still so much more to do 🪶 so let’s fokn do it denn 😝

The community is art. INDIGENOUS EXCELLENCE TO THA MOON

w love,
TXYZ

@destroykasmin brought the energy in @txyz.az, and every artist who took the stage made it a night to remember. Love all the vendors who showed up and showed out, especially my wife @masanisbeautyclothing 💕

I am so excited to announce that I have accepted a position with my Alma mater, Fort Lewis College, as their Recovery Community Coordinator. I’m grateful for the chance to continue this work in a field that matters to me personally, not just professionally.

Here’s to an exciting new chapter in our lives, @mrs_moarth! by @mittyarthur

Introducing Abel Killian Arthur. Born at 1:12 AM on 04/21/2026. Weighing in at 4.11 lbs., measuring 18”.

I am beyond proud of @mrs_moarth for all that she worked through during this pregnancy and during the birth of our boy. There were a lot of ups and downs during this pregnancy, but we made it to 36 weeks. Little man and mama are doing well, both resting and recovering from a very intense day. by @mittyarthur

The past 72 hours have been the most incredibly challenging our little family has faced.

Many of you don’t know, but Moriah is considered a high-risk pregnancy due to an autoimmune disease that affects her kidneys. Due to this, she is much more susceptible to preeclampsia. She is currently 26 weeks.

On Sunday, after having three dangerously high vital signs, and a headache that wasn’t managed by any over-the-counter medication, Moriah called her doctor. After another set of high readings, she was instructed to go to the labor and delivery floor at the hospital.

I can’t begin to express the intense fear that both Moriah and I had on our tearful drive to the hospital. With Moriah’s blood pressure spiking so high, not only was she in danger of having a stroke, but the potential for having to be flown to Denver to deliver our 26-week-old baby was very much a possibility.

After having her blood pressure stabilized, the doctors were worried that in doing so they were masking the dangerous symptoms of preeclampsia. She was admitted for overnight observation. Moriah and I found ourselves staying in the same room where our daughter was born, still worried and unsure of what was going to happen. As a precaution, the doctor decided to push two doses of steroids that would aid in the development of the baby’s lungs if an early delivery was required. One more night of observation was required, but Moriah continued to improve and stabilize. The need to be flown to Denver was growing less and less.

Today, Athaylia and I went to the hospital to pick Moriah up from the hospital and finally bring her back home.

The amount of support we received on such short notice, especially from those willing to pick up and care for Miss Athaylia overnight, was beyond helpful. Thank you to everyone who stepped up for us, prayed with and for us, and were available if we needed anything. Having such a strong community behind us is extremely reassuring that we can trust in God’s plan. by @mittyarthur

Today, I am eight years sober. After keeping up with tradition of making a ribeye steak and smoking a celebratory cigar from @tobacco.tactical, I had an opportunity to reflect on this past season of life.

I tend to reflect on the “what-ifs” of the past, like who I was then and what might have happened, or how my life would have been if I weren’t to have gotten the help I needed when I needed it the most.

I can’t picture my life before fatherhood. I can’t imagine a life without my rock and loving wife @mrs_moarth. I can’t imagine not stepping out in faith and asking for a hand. What could have been is and always will remain unknown, but what is known is that the choice I made and path to sobriety I took was the best decision I have ever made in my thirty one years of life.

I’m blessed with the rewards and fruit of that step of faith. It has taken a lot of self-reflection and work to be where I am today, and it would have been impossible without my wife, the Creator, and the many hands that had a role in my recovery.

I am sober for many reasons, but first and foremost, I am sober for myself because I deserve it. I am not ashamed of the path I am, nor will I ever shy away from talking about it. My recovery is an open book. If you are struggling alone, don’t. Reach out to someone close to you or reach out to me. I will always be willing to help to the best of my abilities for those who ask. by @mittyarthur

It has been nonstop since May, and I have realized that I have not posted about my graduation, our family trip to Disney World, or @mrs_moarth and me celebrating our ninth anniversary. All were unforgettable experiences. Finally, being done with my undergrad program felt overwhelmingly surreal and a relief. Having the opportunity to celebrate my accomplishments by taking Little Miss to Disney World was truly as magical as they say, for her and me. I was able to live out my Star Wars dream and build my lightsaber. Thank you to my in-laws for tagging along to assist. Even more thanks to @mrs_moarth for walking alongside me since day one. Undergrad would have been impossible without you, my love. Cheers to our accomplishments and many more. by @mittyarthur

I’ve always been a Star Wars nerd, so going to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was an amazing experience. During the experience, one of the characters asked why I chose red, I told her “I have a youngling at home”. She was concerned. by @mittyarthur
