Happy Sober October and Mocktail Monday ✨

My friends at @joys_island_spice sent me a bottle of their Sorrel Hibiscus Elixir and let me tell you, it is everything! 🤩

Even though Summer has come to an end, this Sorrel is something you can sip on all year round. For this week’s mocktail I used rosemary to introduce something fresh for the start of fall! 🍂 🫶🏽

Recipe:

-4oz sorrel from @joys_island_spice
-1/2 fresh squeezed lime juice
-1-2 dashes of New Orleans bitters from @allthebitter
-1/2oz rosemary simple syrup
-top with sparkling water

Garnish: lime wheels and rosemary sprigs

Cheers 🥂

This month I hit 10 months alcohol free 🤯🎉!!

I never envisioned spending the last year of my 20’s sober, but honestly, it’s been one of the most empowering and rewarding seasons.

This year has probably been one of my busiest both professionally and personally, filled with travel, get togethers, pop ups, events, celebrations, and PLENTY of opportunities to drink. But every room I was in, I challenged myself not to. Not because I had a problem, but because I wanted to push myself to enjoy the moment fully present and clear.

Recently, MIX’D was recognized for Best Social Media in the non-alcoholic space (shoutout @sans_bar ), and that moment felt like such a meaningful milestone and reflection of the work, creativity, and intention I’ve poured into this little business of mine 🩷

But it’s not just about me or the work I’ve done. It’s about the community that’s helped me build it. I wouldn’t be here without my village and my support system. Im blessed that I had my two sisters @lajeanesse and @lazaria_harris in attendance for my ceremony. For those who weren’t able to attend, I honored my sister, who recently hit 5 months (and counting!) sober herself 🎊

I’m excited to be entering my 30’s clearer minded, more grounded, more confident, and with a stronger business acumen and an even stronger sense of who I am 🥹

P.S. Swipe to see my phone’s newest lock screen 🫶🏽

Wow! What a whirlwind of a weekend ✨

MIX’D WON AN AWARD!! 🥹🏆 On Saturday, I attended @sans_bar 4th award ceremony and my business was awarded Best Social Media!! 👏🏽

I’m still buzzing, and honestly just really proud that the work I’m doing is recognized. What an amazing night being in a room filled with so many influential, talented, passionate, and ambitious individuals doing incredible things for our community in the non-alcoholic space.

There’s something so special about being honored in a space I broke into not too long ago. Knowing that the work I’m doing through MIX’D has actually made an impact on people’s lives is a feeling I’ll always cherish. 🤍

When I had the vision to launch MIX’D two years ago, I had no idea where it would take me. I just knew I wanted to create something meaningful and build a space where people could gather, connect, and celebrate without alcohol. But man… I never expected to be awarded for it. ✨

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who voted and a HUGE thank you to Chris @sans_bar for creating this space for all of our voices to be heard, celebrated, and recognized. Also, a special shoutout to @soberclairity for doing such an incredible job hosting!

To be recognized for Best Social Media alongside some of the most incredible creators and influencers in this space has me completely speechless. Congratulations to all the other nominees in this category 🤩

It was truly a pleasure sharing space with the best of the best. I’m so grateful to be a part of this community and excited for what we are building together. You all made it a night to remember 🥂

Back in Boston, and what better way to celebrate 9 months without alcohol than at @beyondproofjp , Boston’s first dedicated zero-proof cocktail bar! ✨

Coming back has been so refreshing especially seeing how much the NA space has shifted and expanded. The owner of @beyondproofjp, KK, is incredible, and her space literally looks like it was ripped straight from a page of a magazine. She’s created a community where sober, sober-curious, or anyone simply looking for an alternative can come together and enjoy beautifully crafted cocktails (sans alcohol, of course). When you visit, ask for Fabian, his drinks were absolutely gorgeous and delicious. A recap video coming soon 🥂

Being back in the city where I launched MIX’D two years ago has been such a beautiful full-circle moment. It’s a reminder of how far my vision has come and how much possibility there is for where it can go 💫

Nine months alcohol-free, back where it all started, and feeling so incredibly grateful for the journey, the people I’ve met along the way, and the future of what we’re building in the NA space.

I’ve missed this city 🤍 (photo credit: @raguirre99)
